Serious caution:
NEG's are flying at eBay!
There must be some serious magnetism to that little NEG spot this week!
Three out of my five ID's have been blasted!
OneSELLER w/99.5%POS, rating 300+)
Deadbeat negged me after I FVF'ed them for non-payment
TwoSELLER w/99.5%POS, rating 2400+)
Retaliation for a deadbeat that I had waited 90 days to Neg
ThreeBUYER id ZERO fb)
from other thread, seller cancelling auctions early, negged me for non-payment 3 days after auction closed.
...awaiting first neg on another seller ID from bidder who @#$%&*! about paying $8.50 for actual postage of $7.95.
(yes, I PayPaled her back the 55 cents)
Please...
someone open up the eggnog and pass around the Holiday cheer!
These eBayers are going NUTS!!!

I love when people gripe about overpaying shipping of less than $1.00.

I'm glad you refunded her the $0.55 which ended up being $0.23 after fees! How funny!

even better .... split the refund into 2 transactions for $.25 and $.30-ends up costing them $.05.

too funny!
I didn't think of splitting it into 2 pmts!

I did, however, mention in the PayPal message:
I do not ordinarily send refunds for under $1 but ...

what a week!
I think I *officially* no longer care about feedback.

well, fluffy, it's a fact now.
You get the nutcases with vivid imaginations and I get the neg-happy DeadBeats.
such is my role on eBay...
*sigh*

I think Ebay should change how they do things..............If a seller leaves a NPB for a deadbeat .........well that deadbeat should not be allowed to leave any feedback, at least not until the whole situation gets clearned up.............
This is totaly out of hand, I do know how your feeling, and Im sorry you have to go through this, but until Ebay changes things...........we all will have this problem...........Just not right.

I agree with you tonimar; You get negged for the wrong reasons & it rewally pXZC you off. I got negged by a guy in Singapore because I wouldn't ship to him. My TOS plainly stated USA & Canada.

I agree also. The bad buyers are given one of the three strikes they are allowed and the naturally they leave an unwarranted negative feedback. That is the reward for trying to recoup some of your wasted ebay fees? ( the listing fee is forever lost )

Yup, we got hit with two negs in one day this week. My first negs in about a year. One from a NPB and another from a buyer I made a mistake on. I gave her a positive and thanked her for pointing out my mistake, shipped via Priority (she paid for Media) and gave her a full refund. I said I was sorry and she said "It is sellers like you who give Ebay a bad name. The record was for my son and he wanted it when I paid for it."

I replied with "I have done all I can to make this situation better. It was a mistake and I feel I have gone above and beyond, but if there is anything I can do to make it up please let me know. I never intended to let down your son"

To this she replies "I gave you the feedback you deserve. It is sellers like you that make honest people avoid ebay. I will follow up on feedback when and if I ever get the record. But people like you lie and I know I'll never get it. You hurt my son. You figure out a way to make it better. It is not better yet. You better do something if you don't want me to report you to Ebay, Paypal and the Police."

So I wrote back "Merry Christmas- I see you are impossible to work with and I am done trying. Please feel free to report me to Ebay, the FBI, the CIA and God Himself if you feel the need. You have a tracking number, a postive feedback and a full refund. I have done my best. I hope you find the spirit of the Holidays. Life is too short to be so nasty."

Life is too short to be so nasty.

Oh, kyms, you're in for a torrent of abuse now, accusing you of being rude, hateful, vicious, you name it. You must never point out to such people that their behavior is bad unless you want it back ten-fold.

I've noticed this almost since the first month I was on eBay. Sure, 99% of people are just fine. But the 1% who spew such garbage suffer from a bad case of projection. Whatever it is they secretly fear (and know) they are, they will accuse you of.

kyms: "I've sent you a full refund."
Mrs. Nutbar: "How dare you treat me in such a manner, you're rude and nasty! You know nothing about customer service!"
kyms: "Is there anything else I can do to make this better?"
Mrs. Nutbar: "People like you lie! You hurt my son!"

One doesn't have to have a diploma in psychiatry to see clearly that your Mrs. Nutbar is rude, nasty, knows nothing about customer service, lies and hurts her son.

In a face-to-face dialogue, she'd probably go on to accuse you of being frigid and a bad mother.

OMG!!!!!!! KYMS........ Maybe she lives in a perfect bubble and never made a mistake?????????
How you even had the patience to be so nice, wow,,,,,,,,I am nice but I dont think I could have held out that long....I am glad that you wrote back to her and said what you did. ...We all make mistakes, and we do the best we can to correct them, if that is not enough for some people, well you know where they can go...........

I am so sorry to here your experience, it made me wonder ......do people really feel they are so perfect?...........and that life goes on forever?.........

You see these NPB's who rack up (-4) feedback with no positives. They get kicked off for being a twit but leave 4 sellers with red blemishes.

I totally agree that once a NPB notice is sent, feedback for the item should be frozen. If the buyer pays and a FVF is never filed, feedback can be left (intiated by the seller). If the seller ends up resorting to the FVF, Buyer has no recourse.

I suppose this could get tricky if you have sellers who change the TOS or something else but for the most part, it would solve lots of problems!

I think thats a great idea, because if we all sent the same email to Ebay, it would be something they would need to review, because the majority of sellers are asking, and requesting that a change be made ...........

Like when a Seller leaves a NPB Alert, the buyer should not be allowed to leave feedback because it always ends up being a Neg, just to get back at the Seller, even that the buyer does know he didnt pay, but now he has nothing to loose by doing this, and its just not fair for a Seller who works so hard to make sure there customers are happy and pleased.

And then along comes this deadbeat..........who just dont take his bid seriously. Well the bottom line is ........its just not a fair way for Ebay to Allow this to happen. And if we dont make this request with Ebay, then we also Are allowing this to keep happening

We also received a few negs recently too. 2 were from non paying bidders who we negd first. We waited over 30 days for pmt, sent a number of emails and still got negs. We agree ebay should do something about this matter.

One time we got negd for not shipping fast enough. We shipped the item 4 days after receiving pmt. We were accused of living off of the $ interest! The item was a 29.00 cooler!

We had a customer use an item for almost 2 months-then they tried to return it for a full refund. We got a neg there too.

PIMP!

eBay makes money off of Deadbeats ~
remember, they don't reverse the listing fee.
Why would eBay want to stop giving deadbeats these extra chances?
For a new Seller, it is worse than folding a map to try to figure out how to get fees back.
Many new Sellers don't know about NPB's & FVF's or re-couping part of their losses.
*for each DB* prior to NARU-ing, eBay probably collects *on average* for at least five listing fees and one or two FVF's. Profits paid by Sellers who were screwed by Bidders that eBay gives more chances to.
Keep in mind how many existing bidders have fvf's filed against them.
Money in eBay pockets.
How many deadbeats never got reported?
More ca$h in the eBay wallet.
nope
eBay aint gonna change ~ that's a heckuva cash flow to lose.
Stockholders would cry.

zoomin makes a good point. ebay likes the extra money and they're not about to give it up.

Feedback input has been relayed to ebay for many years and they haven't done anything much to help the situation. You can send the suggestion to ebay here but don't expect any results.

http://pages.ebay.com/community/suggestion/

I think people get stressed over the holidays and to relieve it they hit the neg button. I'm happy not to be selling on ebay during this happy holiday season.

yes i can see where your right in what your saying, but we should still write to Ebay,

There is nothing wrong in voicing an opinion when something should be changed, and if the majority feel the same way.
I give my buyers toooooo much time to pay, and I believe what they tell me, but I do file for a NBP warning..............then I let it ride but not longer then the 60days for me to file for my FVF. Then I go and leave a neg. so other sellers will know also, what is in store for them.
A Few times I had to lift the FVF because my buyer did decide to pay, but the neg, stayed. and I guess I have been lucky, they never neg me back.
My negs are for the Slow Postal Delivery, .........now does that make sense.....no, not to me it don't, " I even can send them the shipping slip so they can see I shipped without even holding there check for clearence, but they don't even tell you what there problem is, they just go and Neg.........so I go and Neg them,.....now they are unhappy.........I say,
oh, you dont like getting what you dont deserve, well neither do I like it. What did you expect a POSITIVE.....

Just Venting.......

Some of my ludicrous Negs......

Buyer said that I shipped to slow, that he had to wait over a week to get the item. He leaves this neg on a Monday.

He won the auction on a Tuesday, Paid Friday, item shipped Monday. ?

Another customer said it took two weeks for him to get the item (this was a neutral) he left out taking over a week to pay for the item and living 2,300 miles away from where I shipped the item from.

I had two technologically (and generally) illiterate people neg me for mis-representing an item.........

......so what if the Owner's Manual, Manufacturer's Web Site and Customer Support all supported me.

Truth be told, they were just trying to con me into a discount.

After Christmas, were scores of people who didn't pay for expedited shipping and who were told that the item wouldn't arrive in time with the shipping option they paid for, will probably neg me too.

@#$%!*+@!
this morning:
Hi,
I received the ebay item xxx, I feel like the clothes has been worn and has been washed, I have never wear any clothes worn by other people, Please provide any proof that the clothes has not been worn and washed. I would like to request a full refund including the shipping and handling if I have to ship back the shirt, or I have to provide some negative comments.

okie dokie
How exactly can I prove that it has never been worn?
I knew I should've video-taped every nano-second of my life.
She could watch it for 37 years.
but then I could only prove that I hadn't worn it.
Give me a Break!!

'twas the week before christmas
at the great eBay house
bidders were anxious and ready to grouse
sellers were waiting and hoping to see
eBay's traditional no listing fee...

emails were flying forward and back
"where is my item".."somewhere in the stack.."

"send it express and do it right now"
"can't do it im sorry no way no how"

"i told you i sent it! you paid regular ground
get off my back its UPS you should hound"

"send another express or you will find in your stocking
some negative feedback and i'll make it quite shocking"

"I only had one of those items in stock
neg me and i'll neg back and put you in shock"

Alas and alack it's the same every year
Don't be discouraged - be of good cheer!

Take a deep breath, think of the elf that is chubby
Christmas carols and children and then open the bubbly

Here is a toast to the season, may it quickly be over...
And to January Sales when we're rolling in clover.

Fellow sellers and comrades we've fought a good fight
Merry Christmas to all....may your Christmas be white!"

oh wow.

there's some really... really, troubled people out there.

I understand completely about getting what you paid for, but some of these people have issue.

that mom with the son and the record for example... I really want to see her face when she gets the record via priority mail. you send off the item and refunded the amount, what more does she want??

her son is hurt? She couldn't find a way to help her son cope the lost of a record??? Whats going on here?

anyway, I guess I can still understand, especially if this is something that took awhile to get fixed... but yeah, hope she has a happy holiday season -_-

and for the psychic that knows when a clothes has been worn... sigh.

anyhow glad I'm not really selling during christmas, I finished during the first two weeks of december.

She got the record last night. I have been checking the tracking and noticed it was delivered. I sent her a note saying the item shows as delivered, did she get it. Here is her reply.

"My son now has his record and is extremely happy with it. I will gladly ammend the negative feedback I left. I know I can not retract it but I think I can add another one but have not yet
figured out how to do that. If you know please tell me and I will state it was a technical problem that has been fixed , etc."

That's nice of her. I don't really care if she ammends it, it has been covered up and I doubt anyone will really look into her reply anyway.

Maybe I am just a jerk, but I think I deserved an apology for the insults. The entire situation lasted less than 30 days from auction end to item getting there. She was so insulting. I know it should not bother me but her nastiness has made me sick to my stomach all week.

The trouble with preventing buyers from leaving feedback after a NPB has been filed is that it automatically assumes the seller is right and the buyer is wrong. There are 2 sides to a disagreement and both sides should get their say.

I've been selling on Ebay before it was Ebay and have recieved plenty of excuses. The trouble is you don't know which are legitimate and which are fake. For example, what if a buyer sends cash and it disappears. The seller doesn't know if the buyer really sent it or not and the buyer doesn't know if it was lost or if the seller received it and pocketed it. And Ebay would have no reason to believe or disbelieve either party. I don't think Ebay really wants to get in the middle of these disputes.

Also, it would give crooked sellers more time to scam people. Right now, once a bad seller's account starts getting a number of negs, he closes up shop and heads south. If buyers weren't allow to leave negs then the scammers could file NPBs to prevent the victims from leaving negs to warn others and the seller would be able to scam more people before he had to close up shop.

SANMAR, You may be able to get your neg removed by contacting safeharbor - I remember someone else who was negged over not shipping to a similar bidder getting it removed.
Good luck !

Three negs in one day, after months of positive fb. I'm expecting a couple more. The usual bs. Buyer loses my invoice three times, then complains I am not responsive to her (ten) emails. I replied, "stop emailing me and just send payment" for this $3.98 item. Yeesh! People at work are extremely b!tchy too. Man I'm glad Christmas only comes once a year. 'Tis the season to be cranky!
