Probably pirated videos. There are **VERY** few legal VCDs that were ever created, and they were all pretty crappy movies to begin with.

What I'm guessing you are seeing is someone selling pirated movies or TV shows.

ahh thanks! i was wondering because i was going to bid on an auction but it stated vcd and i was clueless. i will stay away for sure.
