Just interested in how sellers and buyers did with the free listing day. Big sales? More than usual? High prices/lower prices? Any good war stories as either buyer or seller? .... c'mon, let's discuss this. I was born in Missouri, the Show-Me state, which I attribute to my "prove it to me" attitude(and my curiosity!).

Excellent, thank you. Most folks are going to pay by check or money order, so that gives me a few days to list list list until the payments get here.

Great for me too. Sold about 40%, which is pretty good for me these days. Several got good prices, I still have about 20 closing on Sunday. Busy day keeping up with replies and packing, not all EOA notices have arrived yet.

Very profitable day. Make that very, very profitable. Now if I could just keep it up....

My sales were better than usual but oddly most ended with one bid instead of the two or three I am used to. I was glad to clean out some of the inventory hogging up my shelves though. Now I have room for new things.

I've done FLD's on Yahoo before, but this is the first on where my auction service actually came through on an eBay FLD.

8000 items listed, with only 10% sell-through. And the best part is that this was all very low-ticket items that I never would have listed otherwise.

In thirteen years of business, I've never had this many payments/orders in one day.

But now I have several *hundred* packages to pack up. I'm having a quickie break right now... VERY QUICK.

Very good. I had several items that went for double and triple what I had expected. Lot's of new buyers with 10 to 25 feedback and they actually got into bidding wars on some.

Only had a 24% sell through but very pleased! Listed 502 items.

Did very well. We've been working very hard to get the packages out on time. Been cutting it close every night before the post offices closes so FLD has been very successful!

Excellent. A very large percentage paid with PayPal within a few hours. I'm truly amazed at the number of international bidders, lots of them and they almost all use PayPal.

Listed 502 items

Impressive! Congratulations. I would have had to list multiples of items to get to that on FLD...and multiples always mean the ending price on each is lower.

But you had a fantastic return. Well done.

Thanks Fluffythewondercat.

Everything I sell is one of a kind items. Luckily, they are similar so I finally have come up with some templates that work for me. One for postcards, one for lobby cards, and one for records. All I have to do is put in the name, condition and a line or two and it is done.

I actually made 155 different ads in one day for postcards. I had been hoping for a FLD so had been working on them earlier and had them saved up. I had several real photo cards and was very surprised to see them bring $30+ as I usually don't get nearly that much.

Oh yes, we sold somethings that have been sitting in the store for months. I'm a very experienced eBayer but the store I work in business has been VERY slow. So I started getting somethings ready for the FLD and I told my boss about it and she was all for it, since trying it out on that day wouldn't do any harm. I had already made her a website and get her on the internet (I'm the computer nerd around here). So now I can add shipping & recieving to my resume heheh. And we are on eBay to stay

24 items got listed but 17 didn't because I didn't know you had to have 10+ feedback for dutch and buy now auctions :< But those and more will be going up this week (hopefully)

Im sure that's part of why ebay has free and semi-free promotions from time to time. The promotions often get new users to try different listing options or even just plain old listing on ebay as in your employer's case.
The trick may be to not have too many promotions. Like HBO have free weekends too often may cut into potential sales.

As far as I'm concerned, it was great. I had already set up 15 auctions before I left on a weeks vacation in AZ. They were set to go on @ 11:30 PM on the 26th. I've sold
all of the 15 auctions!!

Well now that even the 10-day lists have ended i can assess FLD.....sales rate was a little lower than usual but I wasn't prepared for FLD. I launched lots of items (postcards) that hadn't sold on earlier relists. ANY sales of some of those items were good ones! I decided to list lots of items with BIN's hoping to make my listings stand out from the masses and to spread the work of shipping out over the week instead of a crunch at the end - I sold about 155 items (listed 552) so the sell rate was about 30%, about 25% with BIN. Most of my sold items just got one or two bids..end analysis? Next year I'm going to be READY for FLD (this is my first year on eBay)!! I was planning on taking mid-December to Jan 1st off this year but thanks to FLD I sold 155 items I hadn't planned on selling and relisting wasn't any work with AW Sales Manager..I'd do it again ANY DAY! Thanks eBay!

It was better than last year, but that may have been because of what I listed. I had given up on FLD and was not really ready, but look out next year!
