I just thought I would share this email I just recieved. This guy won an auction yesterday and tried to pay with PayPal and could not figure out how to do it. I even sent him a money request from PayPal and he still couldn't figure it out. I told him as the auction stated I take money orders also and below is his email to me.

XXXX, I'm genuinely sorry for the inconvenience I have caused but this has simply become too much trouble. I would be willing to do things from my PC but trying to get my wheelchair into the van, drive to the bank, get the wheelchair out, roll in to the bank, get a money order, put the wheel chair back into the van, drive to the post office, get the wheelchair out of the van, roll in to the post office, send the money order, put the wheel chair back in the van, drive home, get the wheel chair back out of the van, go in the house and resume my life, is too much to ask simply because some idiot at paypal can't make their system user friendly. Those dimwits don't even have a phone number to call to ask for help!!

I'm out of the ebay business forever!

I've always found Paypal quite easy to use. FAR easier than my bank's website.

Some people are just too stupid be online.

Assuming it's true that is...

It would be really interesting to know if this guy has won other auctions. He would either have to pay by check or use PayPal. Hmmmm. He may be legit but I don't think anyone I know in a wheelchair would write something like this. You can get MO anywhere. Doesn't he buy food?

NPB him. It's the only way he'll learn. Sorry your year had to start with a dimwit.

Just for some entertainment, do a search on this bidder and see if they have won another item that may be the same but cheaper.
Whats the history on this person?

This could also be a case of buyers remorse so in any case treat them like any other deadbeat.

He has a 1 positive feedback and I just checked and he is high bidder on 2 other auctions for the same item he won from me. He won mine at $15.00 and is high bidder on one at $10.00 and another at $5.00 Looks like he is not out of the eBay business after all.

Ahh, there you have it. They are shopping around for the lowest price thinking ebay is walmart.

So he's bidding on two others. Once a deadbeat always a deadbeat. He'll stiff another seller. We can only hope that after he's NARU'd, he doesn't reappear with another ID.

Give the guy a break. Some of us do have difficulty and maybe it is just too much for him to handle. The world is full of people and we are all not the same. Write it off and move on.

"Give the guy a break"

Did you read any of this? I am going to give him just what he deserves a NPB, FVF, and a NEGATIVE.

Since I am a true believer that cash is king.

If I were you, and I'm not, I would tell the bidder what you have found out in your research and what you will have to do in order to get your fees back. (sometimes when you educate the bidder a little, they feel the pinch of guilt and pay up.)

A neg he/she has earned, see if you can get him to redeem himself...

Suggest that he use Bidpay.com!

Intercraft hit it on the head. Presumably this person also figures out how to pay his other bills. Does he tell the phone company that it's too much trouble to get their payment in the mail? Neg him.

Goodmorning!

Well, I guess your bidder doesn't know that you can see his bidding activity ..........so now if he doesn't understand paypal........ how will he pay for these other auctions?........ Assuming he is the winner.

Plus, there is many on line web sites that he could use to pay ..........assuming he wants to follow through with his bid.

From reading his email I would agree with you, he is just a Dead Beat Bidder!

(Looks like he is not out of the eBay business after all.) As you said toolhound,
He's going strong.........lol

I would file for all fees, Neg. Feedback, and move on.

I would do exactly what intercraft said...I've done the same thing a few times, and surprisingly have gotten a majority of the auctions paid.

Don't you just love it when someone who doesn't know a heckuva lot tries to pull a fast one on you?

Show this bidder the error of his/her ways.

I wonder how he gets his groceries. That would be even tougher. He has to carry in all those bags. I am sure there is nobody their to help him. Wouldn't you like to be a fly on the wall and really watch this guy/gal. File for your fees, give him a negative and move on.

Keep us posted about the other auctions that they bid on to see if they win any.

Why not offer to deliver it to him in person and collect in cash? Of course you'd have to pad your shipping and handling fees a little to pay for the first class round trip flight. After he receives the revised invoice, he might want to take another shot at trying to use Paypal.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

I emailed him yesterday and told him due to his circumstances that I would make an exception and take his check with a 2 week hold on the item. I told him to let me know if that was okay with him because if not ZI would relist the item. I have not heard from him yet.
