Your opinions?

November 22 bidder wins auction, responds to WBN from Auction Watch, selects Paypal option, no payment is received so I send Paypal invoice and payment reminder.

Christmas rush, Packages flying out and I print out AW hard copy of the auction and put it to the side waiting for payment.

The week before Christmas in my rush to get everyones Ebay gifts out before the shippers deadline, I mis- read the "Paypal request for Payment" as a "Paypal Payment". (I'm visually impaired). and can't figure out why I hadn't shipped the item.

Rather than risk the customer not getting the item for Christmas I foolishly shipped a $70. item. I contact the buyer, state "I made an error and think I already sent the item but will send another since I made a processing error and I can't find the UPS receipt. Please refuse 2nd item if a shipment already arrived. Customer never contacts me.

December bidder places another bid on the same item being auctioned (after UPS verifies she already received the 1st one.)completes AW check out, selects Paypal and still no payment.

I contact her to request a payment verification for item #1 as it is not showing up on PayPal, before I ship the same item again. She flares and says check again and "you already sent feedback".

I again explain my error and gently ask for verification of payment.

Here's the problem. I requested that we clear up the 1st purchase payment before we continue with the 2nd duplicate auction. I just realized I think I'm being set up for feedback blackmail. I made a mistake, she did not pay and now the 2nd auction is at risk for negative feedback. She is past the 7 day payment requirement. I ask myself WHY would she order the same item twice?

Ah yes... a small detail. She has a hypenated last name on the 1st auction. On the second she uses her sur name. The payment request on Paypal shows her husband's name already listed as a member. Her ebay handle is initials with one number and her email address is intials with a different number. (this alone is confusing)

Normally I would feel okay about handling this kind of transaction but she has 5 negs out of 600 all with the late or non pay issues. And she is also a seller and initiates "investigations".

I have about 500 successful auctions with 2 negs from a deadbeat that manipulated me by claiming I refused to sell to him after billpoint told me to cancel the auction and the other was from a "shoot from the hip" newbie women who wanted instant gratification. I work hard, love my customers and this one feels like a "CON".

I feel like Im in a "Catch 22" no matter what I do I'm going to get nailed.

Any solutions out there?

The solution is not to worry yourself about it and to insure that you are paid for the first auction before even contemplating the second auction. Ber persistant and firm and take all proper steps to insure the auction is successfully completed by your buyer.

From the information you provided, it sounds like you might be dealing with someone who likes to play games. The multiple eBay/Paypal accounts is always a red flag in my mind. Stick to your guns and do what is right and everything will end up ok. eBay users know how to read through negative feedback if it is left and you always have an oppurtunity to respond to these comments. No matter what, do not let the threat of feedback deter you from doing what is right.

Don't take this the wrong. But I've been reading AW for a while, and a pattern seems to be apparent.

The negative feedbacks "I" receive are few and unjustified and due primarily to the other party. Of course, they lie and/or exaggerate in the comments section.

The feedbacks "they" receive are numerous and all seem justified, based on the comments under the transaction.

Do not ship second item. Insist on payment for the first. Mistake or not, they should not expect something for nothing.
Sounds like someone who knows how to milk the system. Read ripoff artist. The hell with any neg!
If they do pay up for the first one[yeah, right!]then you could ship the second one. Word of warning. I would not trust this scammer with any paypal payment. [Read chargeback] Best to get this dishonest person out of your life.
