This bowl (and the 6 matching smaller bowls) belonged to the grandmother of a friend of mine. The bowl measures about 10 inches in diameter and stands about 2 1/2 inches high. It's quite lovely. The only identifying item I could find was the paper label on the bottom with the number: 30581. The photo is not blurred; the rest of the printing on the paper label is undeciferable. I just noticed what appears to be a small letter "U" incised on the bottom. OR...it might be the number "17" as all but one of the 6 smaller bowls also have numbers incised on the bottoms...but all of the numbers are different. Any help with manufacturer/pattern/age of this set of bowls would be appreciated. Thanks and Happy New Year!

It was used to serve berries, and the 7 pieces together are called a
Berry set! They typically consisted of one large bowl and atleast 6 small bowls, so you do have a complete set. It is really beautiful! The dimensional flowers around the perimeter are unusual and are a very nice touch that will add to the value, as will the gorgeous blue and yellow color pallete. It was probably transfer decorated with some "stenciling/ air brush" detail in the pattern near the rim of the bowl. I agree with Kiara that it looks either German or Bavarian in origin and it dates anywhere from
1890s- 1910s. There are many sets listed on ebay, do a "berry set" search ( current and completed) and maybe you'll see an example like yours?

Definately unmarked RS Prussia. The number stamped in the bottom is for the style of the mold they then used various transfer designs.
