suppose it had anything to do with this??

Sellers may not post more than 10 listings for identical items. The best method to list identical items is through our Storefront or Multiple Item Listing formats. We understand sellers have reasons to list identical items at the same time. This is permissible as long as the seller can complete the sale of all listings. However, there is a 10-listing limit to the number of identical, or duplicate, listings allowed.

I don't get it. Why did this guy do it? It looks like he utterly destroyed what was a nice little business. And for what?

Who knows. People are strange.

He woke up with 171 positives. Now he gets to go to bed with 171 positives, 1 nuetral, and 77 negs.

Not to mention he WAS a power seller too!

Judging by the fact that he did not return any of the negs to the people who left them for him, I would guess he got NARU'd for feedback violations.

I don't see a problem with the auctions either, however I do see a problem with the vigilantes interfering with auctions.

If what this guy is doing is wrong then so is everyone who sells anything on ebay dealing with Marilyn Monroe, John Lennon, Elvis, or any artist that dies and prices for his/her works go up.

If you don't like what this seller sells or how he/she sells it, then don't buy it. It doesn't give you the right to interfer with their business. What happened is nothing but mindless mob action.

I wouldn't bid and leave negative feedback, but I have to laugh because this person probably thought it would be a great way to make a few bucks, and now he has a major headache...It's funny to watch someone with this amount of greed go down like that...

REAMOND, THAT SELLER COULD OF AT LEAST WAITED A MONTH OR SO BEFORE TRYING TO MAKE A BUCK OFF OF THE SHUTTLE DISASTER.

BUT LISTING ON THE SAME DAY, SHOWED WHAT A MINDLESS IDIOT HE/SHE WAS. I APPLAUD EBAY FOR NARU'ING THEM SO QUICKLY.

BESIDES MOB ACTION IS WHAT YOU WANT, THEY JUST GOT THE WRONG KIND...

Reamond has a point though. How many Herb Ritts photos do you think showed up on ebay the day his death was announced? What about Jam Master Jay, Alyhia (sp?), Left Eye or any other other news worthy individual? Death is unfortunately quite profitable.

By the time I jumped it, the auction was ended and I don't know what he was trying to sell. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks!

He/she was selling mission digital photos on CD from the shuttle that exploded today. Apparently they were downloaded from the NASA site and put on a CDR to sell.

I didn't see anything wrong with the auctions. There are thousands of auctions on ebay making money off of all kinds or tragedies and deaths. No one has the right to say that the seller has to wait a day, a week, a month or a year after a tragic event to sell items related to that event. Let the market decide, not a bunch of yahoo vigilantes.

How many people are complaining about TV/cable news running stories and pictures about tragedies, deaths and destruction ? TV and print "news" do it day in and day out and make billions of dollars doing it.

I think there are some people with just too much time on their hands. I hope ebay nails the fake buyers for auction interference.

I'd have to agree with REAMOND. Let the customers express their disgust with this seller's lack of class by not bidding, not by interfering with his/her auction and business. There are FAR TOO MANY people out there with way too much time on their hands.

From prohibited section:
Unauthorized Copies

Do not list unauthorized (such as pirated, duplicated, backup, bootleg, and so forth) copies of software programs, video games, music albums, movies, television programs, or photographs on eBay.

IT GOES ON TO ADD UNLESS YOU ARE THE COPYRIGHT HOLDER.

ALSO CDR'S ARE NOT LEGAL UNDER RECORDABLE MEDIA UNLESS YOU ARE THE COPYRIGHT HOLDER TO THE MATERIAL OR IT IS IN PUBLIC DOMAIN.

THIS SELLER IN AN EFFORT TO GET SOME PEOPLE BANNED, GOT HIMSELF NARU'D... CLASSIC.

From his auctions:

"Bid quick and use the Buy it Now, because eBay will surely cancel this auction."

He knew he was doing wrong, and got what he deserved.

I'll bet you that within 1 hour I can find 2000 current running auctions bthat violate this rule. It's a very selectively enforced rule. Pick your favorite sex symbol - I guarantee there's at least two people selling CDR collections of photos of them on ebay.

If the pictures are produced by the US government, they are public record and not subject to copyright.

Ever think maybe he is NARU because he closed the acct. to stop the snowball.

Personally I hope they let him back.
And I also hope they NARU all the phony bidders in this case.

In the upcoming days the TV/media will be offering all kinds of overpriced junk to help us remember this fateful day.
And the public will go nuts to buy it.
But thats OK!

Just let any of us try to get our foot in the door and we're Villans!!

I haven't seen anyone complain about A&E putting together and/or airing biographies withing 72 hours of someone famous/infamous dying/getting arrested/getting murdered/being accused of murder/being accused of rape/being raped/ etc..

These are petty little vigilantes wrecking this sellers FB and auctions only because they can. I hope eBay teaches them a lesson.

NEONMANIA, YOU ARE PROBALBY RIGHT, BUT SPACE SHUTTLE COLUMBIA IS A SENSITIVE SUBJECT FOR SOME RIGHT NOW...

HOWEVER, I DO AGREE THESE BIDDERS SHOULD BE BANNED, IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE AUCTION REPORT IT, DON'T SCREW WITH IT, THAT IS EBAY'S CALL.

ONE THING I DID HEAR JUST NOW ON CNN, IS THAT ANYONE THAT EBAY CATCHES TRYING TO SELL DEBRIS FROM COLUMBIA WILL HAVE THIER NAMES TURNED OVER TO THE FBI FOR POSSIBLE PROSECUTION...

Objects relating to the shuttle being sold on Ebay were all over our local TV station yesterday and again this morning. It was probably good PR for Ebay to shut down the auction in question. I could just imagine the disgusted remarks being made by people all over the area on this one. The one thing as sellers we cannot afford right now is to lose bidders because of someone's insensitive actions. There will always be people trying to make a quick buck from someone else's tragedy, we all know that. It's up to the bidders to say yea or nay to the items.

Personally, I find it too appauling and insensitive to ever even consider bidding on these items - now or in the future.

Cheryl
