Just encountered an auction that says "Cannot sell to Maryland residents, so please do not bid on this item."
Anyone ever hear of a reason for this? This seller is from Pasadena, CA.
Just curious......

I never heard of them!
But this I can tell you:
I have a pair of shoes in my closet that can NOT be sold in California!

If the seller in question is stating no sales to Maryland for different items, the reason might be that this seller resides in Maryland and does not want to be obligated to charge sales tax or keep sales tax records. I remember seeing a Pennsylvania seller that had the same policy.

I think shop4shoes has it right. Has an agreement with a supplier. Dad, I have 3 pair of boots that cannot be sold in CA i.e. Python & Kangaroo. Bought both before moving here. Western boots will last a lifetime. Just had the 'Roos resoled for $55.00. Will last another 10 years. You don't throw out $500.00 boots.

I know another seller that will not sell to PA resident soley becausse they don't feel like dealing with sales tax issues so I guess either are reason is equally logical.
