Well, this IS eBay related, so I'm hoping that someone with broader 'forum experience' can help me.
A "close personal friend of mine" was the buyer in a deal gone south.
The Seller, who uses AW, has made reference to advice she received on an "eBay chat board".
The thread is not here, nor can we find it on the eBay discussion boards.
She was hoping to be 'invited' to join in on the 'discussion', but no invitation has come.
So...
how does one go about finding other eBay discussion forums?
can you help us find the thread?
my searches are much too broad and come up with a kazillion matches ~ primarily on the eBay site.
Should we raise the issue here and invite the seller since she *refuses* to provide a link?
TIA...

BTW ~
the feedback issue has been a SLAMfest.
I am now in TOTAL agreement.
Sellers: DO NOT leave feedback first.
This Seller messed up & got a horrendous NEG out of the deal.
"Gotta" probably wouldn't have had the cajones to do that had she not already received her POS for speedy payment.
Thanks again for any input

SO WHAT YOUR SAYING IS THAT THE BUYER HERE WAS PIECE OF CHICKEN SH*T THAT ISN'T WORTH THE SALIVA TO SPIT ON.

BECAUSE OF LAME A$$ BUYERS LIKE THIS IS THE REASON SELLERS WON'T LEAVE FEEDBACK FIRST, IF SHE WOULDN'T OF NEGGED WITHOUT HAVING RECEIVED FEEDBACK, SHE SHOULDN'T OF NEGGED AT ALL...

Good try, 12pole, pretty far off target, though.
The Seller totally misrepresented the item.
Not the brand advertised and it was ripped ~ not new.
Buyer nicely notified seller upon receipt.
Seller said to send it back for a refund.
Seller got item back & said they would mail a MO (rather than refund by PayPal ~ original method of payment)
When MO did not arrive within a week, Buyer attempted to contact Seller.
Seller deleted e-mail.
THEN
Buyer left well deserved neg.
NEG would have been left regardless if the refund never came ~
maybe would've given the seller another chance
definitely would've been worded a bit nicer
FWIW
Lame A$$ Buyer paid within 24hrs of auction close AND contacted Seller about misrepresentation rather than just posting an immediate NEG.
I'll take that bidder any day.

oh yeah, 12pole, thanks for your input

care to help find the thread or the forum?
that was the question.
I'm sure you've been tossed off from a few of those *other* boards
Care to help us find them?
or do you just prefer to slant the topic in your usual way?

You never tell us what it is about so it is difficult to find it. There is a place somewhere on AW that you can find old threads but I can't find it. I thought I bookmarked it but can't find it. Someone will come and and probably find it if you tell us what it is about.

Hi Libra!
thanks for your post ~ sorry I didn't make it clear.
The problem with finding the thread is that it is NOT on AW or eBay. We can't seem to find any other active boards where it could have been posted. I'm trying to help her find other sites because it is NOT on AW/EO. I don't get out of AW much ~ never needed to, and I'm not sure how to narrow down a google search enough to point me in the right direction of an active forum.
I'm not asking for anyone to 'violate' anything by mentioning 'another place' ~ just looking for some guidance in finding where the thread could be if it is NOT on AW or eBay's boards.
this all transpired over the weekend when she posted the NEG and filed fraud claims against the seller through eBay and payPal. The thread would've been started on Sat or Sun.
The 'search' feature left AW not too long after the mods ~ that's why you are having a hard time finding it.
thanks again for trying to help ~ hope I made it a little clearer!

Thanks for the link, Libra.
Nothing there about the transaction, either.
I'm starting to think it was just another 'story' from this seller.
anywhere else you guys can think of would still help, though!
thanks again

I remember seeing a couple of posts - threads - about shirts. I don't remember where they were though - maybe the ebay powerseller board? Seems one was about a shirt they said was ripped and it has scissor cuts in it? Maybe if you provided some more info - I could see if I could find them for you.

Hi ~ thanks for the input!
The transaction involved a New pair of $$$ jeans ~ supposedly NWOT, actually not the brand stated & arriving with a 3 inch slice in the waistband.

FBO twelvehole, sorry it is so long (which is why I didn't want to start a thread if there was alreadsy one existing):
Seller e-mail 1/22
Hi. I just received the jeans in the mail this afternoon (note:jeans sent 1/7). I'm having some trouble with me PayPal account but will send you out a money order tomorrow.
Angela
Two unanswered e-mails via ask seller a question. Bidder e-mail 2/2
Hello Angela
Apparently you are having problems with your mail as well as your PayPal account.
The money has not been refunded & the item has been in your posession for over two weeks.
You sold damaged goods that were NOT xxx jeans as you 'assured me' in your item description.
Since you are having such a difficult time following through with your end of this auction, I have filed with eBay as well as PayPal regarding your failure to comply.
Seller response 2/2
I am currently in a very upsetting situation. I have 3 kids, no transportation and I lost my job...Oh and not to mention I am pregnant.
I walked downtown on the morning of January 29th (note not sent 1-23 as per prior e-mail) and got a money order for $40 which was sent out to you. I have all of the money order information and I put a trace on it this morning to see if you have cashed it yet (supposedly purchased TWO business days ago!). This money was extremely hard to come by for us (but accaepting it was not a problem) but I made sure to put you, my customer first and add extra money to cover your shipping expenses (nope, just covers extra shipping). I really wish that you would have waited until Monday (Monday would make it four weeks since item sent back) because I guarantee that if you haven't received the money order yet it will be there in your mailbox on Monday (another useless guarantee ~ no refund arrived).
My ebay name is damaged and I don't know if I can get that back. I am trying to make ends meet for my kids, it's so depressing. I am not sure if I will be able to list any more on ebay because of the negative feedback. I just really wish that you would have emailed me, I am friendly I would have gladly put a trace on the money order or do what ever I can for you. I couldn't refund you by paypal because AOL decided to automatically bill my account which put me $14 in the hole and I have only $3.00 in my bank account so I wasn't able to cover it. I borrowed the $40 from my sister to refund you.

Believe me, there are plenty more where those came from (more sob stories, claims MO cashed, then placed stop payment, etc, etc ~ inject tears & sympathy where needed).
My friend was obviously upset, I intervened.
excerpt from an e-mail I sent on her behalf:
I'm not quite sure what your problem is or why you borrowed money from your sister rather than just sending MY money back.
I sent you money, you sent me useless goods. I sent back the goods & paid for shipping both ways.
You have both the money and the goods.
Looks like both you AND the post office made out on the deal.
me?
I just get to leave negative feedback and learn another lesson about how Seller's try to scam newbie bidders.
Well, I'm not a newbie.
nice try.
takes you a week to get the MO yet only nano-seconds to get yourself back downtown to stop payment on the same money order.
(was I born yesterday?)
Maybe you learned something about selling inferior items and taking other people's money.
I hope your 'husband' gets a raise and that you handle your children better than you handle your auction responsibilities. your story-telling is hopefully something the children enjoy.
Best of luck with your pregnancy, getting a car, repaying your sister, and finding a job.
yeh right.
am I supposed to believe any of this?
BTW, I'd be happy to give my side of the story on any eBay chat board you wish.
Here is a pleasing excerpt from Angela's e-mail:
you are an ignorent, scum bag. I hope that you have a MISERABLE pregnancy your kids are probably going to be pathetic little losers w/ a mother like you anyway.

any questions, 12pee?

(trying to edit to make it easier to read!)

TWO LOSERS DOING BUSINESS TOGETHER
kudos to you, 12pole, you're halfway there.
At least now you admit the Seller is a loser.
do you still feel the story is made up?
still think there is a perspective issue?
how about the seller deserving the neg?

For one who professes to know so much about auctions, you haven't been very forthcoming with anything resembling assistance.
Care to add something useful at any time in the near future?
alas, without your arrogant nastiness, no one around here would recognize you.
How 'bout you post something helpful using that *other* ID of yours, eh?
