Noticed in my small town newspaper the following advertisment:WORK IN YOUR PJ'S Distributing Merchandise on eBay. No inventory. No experience required. Call today for more ifo 800-568-1636. Ext. 1725. well, I called them just for grins. The conversation started like this: Have I sold or bought on ebay? (ME:yes). Well, then you know how it works. (ME: Yes). This is the opportunity for you to sell wholesale products with no inventory or shipping costs to you. For instance, you can sell a tv set for $500 and pay $300, making a $200 profit. Then you call us and we take care of the rest. (ME: So, this is drop shipping?) Are you making $100,000 a year? ((completely ignoring my question)). I ask again and he answers yes. He tells me that with just 20 sales/products per week I could make $200o to $4000 per week. (ME: So what's the catch?) There is no catch. This is straight forward, blah, blah, blah. (ME: OK, sign me up.) A small stutter on their part .... well, you have to enroll in the program for a small fee of $58.00 which would tell you everything you need to know. But, the nomimal cost will be recovered with your first sale AND it does come with a 30-day money back guarantee. (ME: well, I am just getting information at this point.) What kind of decision do you need to make? You told me your were familiar with ebay. Are you going to get this opportunit get away? (ME: click, hanging up the phone). If anyone is interested, the number is 1-800-568-1636. ext. 1725. Perhaps you can think of some different/more interesting question to ask so that we all have the "entire picture". The background noise was tremendous with LOTS of people talking so I am thinking they are receiving a tremendous amount of phone calls. If anyone decides to call, here are some questions that I have thought of since I called. Are the products from the same company? Do you have to call one central location to give your information for all the products you have sold with little/no effort or is it dependent upon which product you are selling.Just so you know which side of the fence I am on in this, I called it for a lark after showing it to my co-workers. I have read here that the opinions of drop shipping are negative, to say the least. At the very least, perhaps this will be a creative discussion!

Have fun and give me your opinions, holding nothing back, as usual!

Never ever call an 800 number that has an extension # attached to it unless you positively know where it leads. That extension, especially if you use touchtone to access it could lead to a 900 number and you could be charged $20.00 per minute for that call. A very old scam. Check your phone bill when it arrives for any suspicious charges.

Dang, didn't know that about the scam. Hope it is for real because I called from work! "I are a county bureaucrat." If so, perhaps it will be difficult to trace to me but since there are only 12 people in my facility (a library), it would be hard for me to act dumb. Ths things I learn here!

Fluffy...I'm not really sure. I've never tried it. I just remember reading about this scheme when it first came out. It was devised to attract people who have 900 blocking on their home phones since the public generally associates 800 numbers with toll free calling.

anthony809 --- details! I want/need details. I figured before I even called that it was a scam so I was basically just calling for grins.

But, being a naturally curious person AND a native of Missouri, the Show Me State, I would love to hear of your experienceswith this particular venture.

A short history lesson... The background noise was from a boiler room where dozens of people are taking calls for several different telephone scams. They sometimes use a signal a wave in the air and all the operators around them begin making background noises. Hey, home shopping channels even do it.
The scam is based on the old How to make Money by Mail Order con which has been sold in some form for over 100 years.

Hi Jinkies
Well here are the details you wanted.I called and got the salesman and told him i was looking for products at wholesale prices and he oh yaa this program will give you over a 1,000,000,00 products you can buy at wholesale prices. We will send you a cd in the package with a password and user id which you can use.I then told him i sold on the big E and was looking for other products to sell.So he said the cost was $58.00 plus shipping of $11.90.So with shipping cost i figured there would be catalogs coming well what came was a published book with information that you would get on signing up on ebay to sell and 3 sheets of paper 1 was the invoice and the other 2 are instructions to call for a walk thru on signing up on the big E.Notice i did not mention a Cd which was not in the package.Plus i could have mailed it for less then $2.00.They did give you 25 site listings but you can get from the WEB wholesale magazine you get every month and as you know that is wholesale prices. So if there is any more that i missed let me know.I have the web site for these guys but i don't think i can post it.

anthony809 - sorry you got taken by these scum-suckin, low-life yella bellies. The example he used on me was "sell a tv set for $500.00, buy it from us for $200.00" like they had a whole room of tv's just sitting there with my name on them. When he said I could make $2000-$4000 each week, my thought was then why are you sitting on the phone making ten bucks an hour (if you are lucky) instead of doing this yourself? When I asked him if this was drop shipping, he answered, are you making $40,000 a year? Doing quick math, if I was making (his) minimum of 2g's a week, I would be making $104g's yearly. The whole thing just didn't compute but then I wasn't calling thinking I would get rich working in my pajamas. I was just wanting to rattle some chains.

sell a tv set for $500.00, buy it from us for $200.00

And when it sells for $100.00, they don't ask you for the difference, right??????

Scams, all of them.

Look at the ad banners on the top of the AW page, it is the same garbage, without the toll free number.

Hey all,

If that one doesn't sound good to you, here's one. I live in Nigeria and I need a was to move $56,000,000 in cash out of the country. If you are willing to let me use your bank account to send the money too, I will let you keep 30%.

Instead of wasting time here in this thread, you should all be checking your email. Ebay needs for all of you to confirm your passwords and credit card info. There is a convenient link in the email for you to follow to give this information. Be sure you have your ssn and bank account info ready, as they need that too.

Ok, I am stalling. got lots of work to do and do not want to do my work! This post got my interest up. I tried a google search on that phone number: 800-568-1636. My goodness, it is listed in want ads classifieds all over the country! Looks like they are using a few of them. Same company. I tried the Better Business Bureau web site and search there too. Not too much info, except a company called Auction Works. OOOH scarey. Looks like a fraud thing.

Ok, I will go clean the house now, or work on this computer (making too much noise now) or clean the bathroom. Ho humm.

I saw that in PennySavers also in Southern California. I got the material, scanned the wholesalers and dropshippers and returned the whole thing and got a full refund. You can get one back once you close an auction--doesn't have to be one through them.
