I sell collectibles on ebay. REcently, in my listings, i created a table which includes all the different types of collectibles that I sell on ebay (auctions and stores). A customer can go to any of my listings, click on the collectible type and have a list come up of all my ebay auction and store listings.

Someone sent me an email stating that, according to Ebay, this would be considered SPAM and that ebay could end all my listings. is this accurate? I've not sent any emails to anyone and the table only refers to items I am selling on ebay?

Yes, keyword spamming.

Ok, now I have a question. This was going to be my project tonight and I think it's the same thing that yeahwell did. I was going to ask how to do this, actually. In my childrens video auctions I wanted to have a link that would say "click here to see my other childrens videos" and in my action adventure listings the same thing - martial arts, etc. And they would be directed to those other items I have on ebay. Is that spamming? I just thought it would be an easier way for them to look at my other auctions instead of wading through 600 auctions that they aren't interested in.

did that make sense????

Ebay has already supplied a link in your auction to: View sellers other Auctions.

Yes, but I have 500-600 auction running at one time, and people don't want to wade through all of them just to find the kids movies or whatever their interest is. I get a lot of emails asking for certain things (interests) and I thought it would be easier to link like items together like they do in the ebay stores. Right now I link them to my AW store and get a lot of sales that way because of the way it's catagorized, but the catagories don't show up for my ebay auctions (something I wish AW would fix)

ihula, if I understand you correctly I think that is allowed.

The links policy is here.

Yes, I think mine is allowed. Now I just have to find a way to do it. I think if I put in the search box "kids video ihula" or something like that only my kids auctions will come up, then if I copy and paste the website address thing (on the top...forgot what that's called) it should work...then just insert it into all my kids auctions and call it "click here" or whatever.

Ok, now I'm confusing myself

well, i went to that link. One of the items that is allowed is: "Links to your eBay (including your eBay Store) or Half.com listings. Learn more ".

My links go directly to my ebay store and ebay listings. So, that is allowed, right?

I think so.... It's very similar to what I wanted to do

This is an example of where I got the idea to do what I wanted - his is a little more complicated and I noticed that he doesn't do it in any of his current auctions, so I wonder if they made him stop?

it would be a wonderful service to your buyers, if you get it working!
Can you put it on your about me page? And direct your buyers to it in your auction copy.

ihula, why not email him and ask him. Sounds like he was very organized. Doesn't eBay still get all the fees associated with this type of auction?

The only problem is we sell some of the same items and I think we use the same supplier, so I don't want him to think I'm "spying" or trying to undercut him or anything weird. If they (ebay) told him to stop doing the listings I don't want him to think I turned him in or anything. The last thing you need is a seller who deals in the same items as you to become your enemy...you know what I mean?
PS - about time we got some snow up here, heh?

Try and figure out a unique word or combination of letters that you can put in your auction titles to link them together. Then uncheck the box that says "titles and descriptions" to come up with the search code or whatever it's called. Test a few to see if anything else comes up first and then they will also show up in completed auction searches, for what that's worth. But this way, you stand a better chance of identifying your own auctions from everyone elses. It's worth the space you use in your title if you can keep the word as short as possible. Like "wqz.3" or something.

I include a link to a gallery view of my auctions because the pictures in "view seller's other auctions" look really weird sometimes. I think they are smaller and they make my mannequin look four feet wide.

I just looked at the other seller's auction and all he does is puts his user name in every auction, then performs a search with that name, within each category and that would give him the search code to plug into that nifty pop up program he has running (which I know nothing about, but it is pretty neat). Just as long as your user name is unique, you could probably do the same thing rather than my first suggestion. Now that I see all the categories involved, it may not have been the best idea.

the code is surprisingly easy. You can read it, clear as day, if you click "source" on your browser.
Ihula, did you get your snow? wahoo!

I think I will work on "sprucing up" my auctions this weekend. I need more multiple purchasers (don't we all). We got snow a few days ago, but there's already dead brown grass showing in most areas again. We were supposed to get some yesterday again, but it missed us
