I know there was a thread awhile back about sellers refusing to sell to the winning bidder...what can I do? I have not heard from the seller since my win on Feb. 12, and NOW I get a NPB notice! I have emailed and emailed for the total with shipping....no response. What recourse do I have??? Thank you!

I found the thread a few topics down! thank you all anyway!! I will file a "Seller refuses to complete transaction" if I can find it in EBay's new, irritating system!!

Before this goes any further pull the contact information and call the seller.

What I would do is find out if the seller has an active auction running and I would use "Ask the Seller a Question" and go through that and inquire about your auction. That might get the sellers attention. If that doesn't work and the auction is worth it call the seller. BTW that is a quick NPB alert. That is only 10 days after the auction closed. That seller doesn't waste any time.

give the sucker the big fat neg he deserves and let him live with it.

What makes you think that he deserves it? Maybe he's not getting Fawnie's email and thinks he has an unresponsive bidder on his hands.

I once had a buyer that used the same ISP as I do and, for some reason, I received his email but he didn't receive mine. Every few days he'd send an email asking where to send the money and I'd reply. After several attempts I decided to email him from a Yahoo account, he received that email and immediately PayPaled the money. A couple weeks later, he reported that some of my original email finally showed.

So, my suggestion to fawnie is to email through Ebay or another email account.

bkmunroe, why doesn't he deserve it? if he is not receiving the buyers emails, where are his emails to the buyer?

in the other thread I did recommend the "send this auction to a friend" option on ebay.

Less than 5 minutes ago, I sent a customer a third notice, this time from my Yahoo account. For some reason, her hotmail account is not receiving mail from AOL. I set up the Yahoo account just for this purpose.

Are you contacting them through the ask a seller forum? If so, try contacting them though e-mail. If have had many bidders try and contact me through the ask a seller link only to have the bidders contact info incorrect so I cannot reply back. If you are contacting them directly with your e-mail, then neg them and move on.

Stone - fawnie resorted to ask seller a question after sening numerous unanswered emails directly.

Tomorrow is Sunday(today), so be prepared to not able to speak to them, especially if they are using a business phone or have a business. Hopefully they will have a answering machine.

I would wait until Monday to call and then if no satisfaction... neg.

I didn't even have to contact the seller by phone...she called ME after I wrote her back stating I didn't really want to go to Square Trade with the issue!! She claims she didn't get ANY of my emails, and that I must be having trouble with my server.....definately NOT the case....I told her SHE must be having difficulties with HERS!!!! We'll see if she negs me once she receives my check...I'm afraid to send a money order as she could claim she didn't get it. I'll definately pay for a delivery confirmation for my check!! Thanks for all for your advice!!

I used to wait forever and send endless
reminders trying to get my high bidders to
become buyers. No more! You can't file a
Non-Paying Bidder warning for 7 days after
the auction ends, and you can't file for
Final Value Fee credit until 10 days AFTER
you file NPB. I skip the Payment Reminder,
now, and go straight to NPB 7-10 days after
the auction ends (depending on if I have
had contact with the high bidder or not),
and then the Negative feedback and FVF
follows 10-14 days later (again, depending).
Always leave feedback before filing FVF
as eBay has a tendency, at least for me,
to tell you you can't leave feedback after
filing FVF on occasion. That will drive
you a little nuts!

I always try contact from several accounts
if I don't get a reply. And I keep detailed
track of e-mail's sent and received (and
archive them all). CD-R's are dirt cheap!

That all said, why should I wait forever.
I put the item up because I needed or wanted
to sell it. I have bills too. Life jumps
up and bites me sometimes too. I state,
quite clearly, in my auction description
that payment is expected to at least be
sent within 7 days after the auction ends.
If they don't have the money, they should
not bid!

But I'm not a total harda**. If someone
has a legitimate problem, I try to work
with them if possible. Sometimes it isn't.
I am sorry to hear you've had a problem.
I wish you good luck!

I had an auction close and corresponded with the buyer a couple of times and all of a sudden it stopped. Well, to make a long story short I filed NPB and low and behold along came a PayPal payment and she said she hadn't received any of my emails only eBays. Hers was a hotmail addy but mine is not AOL.
