As close as I've come to the dreaded Neg(fingers crossed).
Item arrived as promised and looks great, but smelled like a smokers house

They be lucky they're not around after Ralphie indulges in Jalapeno Mighty Dog a la Pinto Beans!

Makes "Blazing Saddles" look, sound, & smell downright tame!

One of my only neutrals was for a Nintendo video game system that had set on my shelf for two years... IN THE SHRINKWRAP.

Neutral: Works fine, smells like smoke!

I could understand if it were clothing or a book, but how does a sealed piece of plastic smell like anything?

Nut case.

They should only buy new items if this is a concern for them as a seller has no control where some of this stuff has been for the last fifty years.

I never include in my description "From a Smoke Free House" Although we are smoke free I never know where my items come from so I stay away from that statement. I have a friend who sells and also states "From a Smoke Free House" and she buys her items at the Goodwill.

I also sell video games and systems (among
other things) and I have had used (not new)
items that smelled of smoke. Some very bad!
Luckily I avoid problems by using potpouri
in a box and putting the item in with it.
Works well. I agree with you that a new
item still in the original shrinkwrap
probably did NOT smell like smoke...

Gee, I came really close to getting my first neg today! Got e-mail from newby buyer, "item arrived, you never told me there were two chips on the bottom." Heart pounding, pulse racing, I pulled up the auction, but I DID TELL HER very clearly AND POSTED A PICTURE OF THE CHIPS. Sent the auction to her, implored her to check the description and look at the pictures. Never said thank you to me, or, excuse me, I was wrong, just said the pictures "didn't come through." Still, she says she left a positive FB, and I don't have any negs showing, so -- whew--close call.

I know it's coming someday. I just know it. But let me be unconscious for it, please!!

I do have a smoke-free house- but I have three cats. I've wondered, sometimes, if I should make a note that cat hairs may arrive in the package- so many people are allergic.

feasibleenterprises,

I love the picture! No, the one you tried to put here didn't though. I looked at the source code and a piece of one of the tags after it was messed up. If this doesn't work, I'm not sure what little tweaking it takes to get a picture in here.

Okay, so that didn't work. What are the rest of you doing to get hypertext to act right in the postings?

And here finally is the picture one should put in their auction so anyone can find out for themselves if you have a pet-free, smoke-free home. Pictures are a necessity since the buyers obviously aren't going to read anything you wrote!

Ha!
Patty

HEY! the picture WAS here. Somebody musta yanked it at the source.

Neonmania - I bet he's a real cutie! I just wish mine was more willing to try on the custom cat costumes I make! I design my own patterns from scratch and have been chasing him down to try a "famous black mouse ears hat" on him I am working on for a client.

I love my job!

Meadow - if yours is a Blue like mine I wish you tons of luck! I love my little wreaker of havok but I would never dream of trying to get him to stay still for two minutes. He's much too busy chasing his fake mouse on the hardwood floors and torment his older companion who glares at me daily with that "What were you thinking?" look for bringing the little menace into his mellow sedate domain.

Neon,

Yeah, he is nearly always either bouncing off the walls or asleep. Not much middle ground. Most cats settle down after a year or two. He's 4 and still active like a kitten, but only 8 lbs.

He's not a pure blue, just an alley cat from a litter of 8 assorted kittens born in a car in a business warehouse. When the light is just right, you can see faintly darker rings on his tail and has a very faint tuft of white on his tummy. He gets in every car around here that has a window down to inspect it. Must seem like home!

I use his picture with "Our Quality Inspector" under it when I post auctions on Ebay. (None running right now, will be in a few months.)

Every once in a while, someone will email and say he looks like their cat or ask if he is for sale. NOT!
