Auction closed 15 days ago. As stated in my auction, payment must arrive in 14 days. So I filed NPB on the 2 items he won from me. Now I get his angry email....

---------------

I am outraged by this situation. One: You complain to ebay before even emailing me regarding the "non-payment"? What the heck is that? Here are the facts. I won two movies from you and requested payment insturctions; you sent rather unusual instructions to NOT send anything via certified mail, which, by the way, is how I always send paymentt to those sellers that for some reason do not like the obvious convenience of Paypal. Against others' advice and my better judgement, I went ahead and send a money order for the two movies. Now, it is obvious that without so much as an email to me, you are pretending to ebay that you "have still not received payment". Meanwhile, I am sitting here expecting my movies. I am not about to sit here and accuse anyone of anything, sir or madame, but it I think I smell a dirty crook who's a computer whiz but a fool. I will not send you anymore money, but I will send my money order stub to ebay if asked. Meanwhile, I suppose you will sell your item to the "buyer" who bid just a buck under me on both items, pocketing both our money. You don't accept certified mail because you're at work? Try going to the post office after work! They'll hold it for you, you know. I have an excellent reputation on ebay and I intend to keep it. I think an investigation of this crud you're pulling just might be in order. You have my money; I hope you choke on it.
-------------------------

Well, I never got his payment, I never sold it to the underbidder, so what do you think? Just file FVF ion the 10th day? Ignore him? Report him to ebays? What would you do?

By the way, I checked what he was bidding on, and noticed he won the same 2 items from another seller 10 days after mine for alot less! Do I detect he NEVER sent payment? But what if he files fraud to ebays claiming I cashed his money? any advice?

He'll have to prove you cashed the MO. A MO stub doesn't prove you cashed it or that it has been cashed at all.

I would file for FVFs and just ignore him/her.

File for final value credit. Email the jerk and state you're aware he won the same 2 items elsewhere. File negs, block his email, block him as a bidder and get on with your life.

Before you go overboard with this, I would see if the m.o. does show up. Mail might have been slowed down because of weather.

Auction closed 15 days ago. As stated in my auction, payment must arrive in 14 days.

14 days may not be enough time if something did hold up the mail. I do think you do need to be a bit more flexible about this.

Why did you not email them and ask before filing? This might save some headaches for you. You could also have asked why they bid on the same movies from another seller and see what they say,at least then you have something to go by.

I would give this some more time as you can always file for your fees after if this does not work out.

I think he may be bluffing, but his payment may have actually been delayed. We are having mail delays here in Texas like I've never seen. I believe it is weather-related.

I allow 10 days for payments to arrive. It's taking 14 days for some to arrive. And it's late even if they mailed it the day they won.

I ALWAYS email my buyer with a reminder at least 3 times before filing NPB. If that was not done in this case, I believe it is a serious error. Even Ebay guidelines for dealing with non-paying bidders indicate you should try at least once before filing.

So, in this case, he may or may not be a non-paying bidder. The fact that he bid on a second set makes it look like he never sent you the funds. But I accidentally bought a poattern at the fabric store that was already on the way to me from an auction I had bid on. I buy so many, I lost track.

Wait a week to see if the money order arrives. If it does not, file. If it does, mail it back with an apology that it must have been delayed in the mail but you see he has bid on another set.

No reason to mail the tapes now, since he has others. And I really DON"T think he mailed a money order. He protested way too much.

OOPS. my bad. The auction closed 20 days ago before I filed NPB, not 15 (looking at another bidders send mail).

20 days would most likely be long enough for the $$ to get to you, and from the facts you have laid out, I get the feeling that this person is playing you. Calmly reply to his/her email, stating that the MO has not been received yet, you notice that he/she has won the same items in another auction, and that you are just abiding by eBay policy and your own terms of sale to try to recoup your lost fees.

As a side note, you had some sellers file a NPB on you 8 days after the auction ended? Whew, that's pretty quick. Evidently, those Power Sellers are starting to forget what made them power sellers in the first place...good customer service = happy customers = lots of return business = happy wallet.

Ironking,

I'd definitely say he never sent the money. File an NPB request, then ask for FVF fees 10 days later. Block him now from emailing, and block him as a bidder. Leave neg FB if you can stand a retaliatory one he's likley to send you in return.

I would play it profesionally, explain that you had not recieved payment as of yet and suggest that the post office had not delivered it yet. Explain that many eBay bidders do not pay for items and this is a set procidure that you have to protect yourself. He can confirm that you had not cashed the money order with the bank and resend a new money order. If he becomes "nice" you should expect to see payment within a week. Otherwise explain to him what the next step will be and proceed with the FVF credit.

All of my auctions state "Payment must be received within 10 days of close of auction" At the 10th day I send a reminder & ask that they reply immediatly. If I haven't heard in 5 days I file a NPB. That is a total of 15 days with a warning. I feel this is fair.
