I just found a Queen concert poster from 1974 or '5. This is a big glossy poster, not a showcards. They were dropped by Electra Asylum because they were too racy- I have only seen one example online, and it wasn't for sale- and I have no idea what the value might be. Anyone know of an appraisal service for rock memorabilia?

This is the first site that came up in a Google search. He says he doesn't give evaluations and that you have to be serious about selling at a realistic price. I guess that weeds out any that just want to waste his time trying to get a free appraisal. At least his terms are quite specific. It may be worth checking out.

There is a seller on ebay by the name of Limagerie who I would highly recommend. I have known her since long before she started on ebay and most of my collection has come from her gallery in Studio City. If she or her assistant (a well know rock artist himself) can't help you, no one can.

Thanks, both of you!
I've sent out a few queries, to the guy in San Fransisco and your friend Limagerie both. We'll see where it leads us. You know how decadent the Seventies were. Looking at the image, I wonder if ebay is going to yank it... and,no, it's not the "fat Bottom girls" poster.

Dragon - is there an artist name on it? Some artists have sites where you can get values for their work. A couple of the pieces that I have I was unable to find pricing or current vaues on when I went to insure them so I found the sites of the arist or an "official" representative who were extremely helpful. I now check back every year or so to get current value so that I can make sure they are correctly covered.

Nope, no artist. I think the photograph is by a very young Norman Seef, (who took photos of EVERYONE later), but I'm not positive. And the art director was Glen Christiansen, but he doesn't seem to be around these days.
Well, I sent email to L'imagerie ,but I haven't heard back from her...
I am going to LA next week, actually, maybe I will look for her gallery while I'm out there. ..

Keep us posted, and if you can, perhaps post a pic here of the poster? Or is it too risque?

Dragon - Very easy to find! It's in Studio City in the Valley on the corner of Ventura Boulevard and Laurel Canyon two doors down from Kinkos. There is tons of parking in the back - don't bother tryng to battle for street parking. If it' still there, try Outtake Cafe for lunch - best duck in town!.

Neon, thanks for the info! As a matter of fact I should do some apartment hunting in that area-I WISH- prices have skyrocketed since my day....
well, here is the auction- # 2514805220
I'm using my other ebay ID.... on account of how the Dragon-mother ID sells more kid-friendly things...
We'll see how ebay users value it.

Awesome poster!

I know what you mean about rents. I haven't lived there for a few years but when I left everything had gone up dramamtically (but then a lot of the buildings were new builds or completely renovated/retrofitted thanks to the quake. I was lucked, my building has almost no damage but 4 withing blocks had o be torn down. If you take Laurel 1 block north of Ventura and take a left about 70% of the apartments from there to Coldwater were razed and rebuilt. If I were going to move back up there I would do Toluca Lake or Burbank. Not hideously expensive and pretty safe. They even still have that old neighborhood feel - and I'm a sucker for the old apartments and houses that still have the built in Milk Box.

Neon, are you an L.A. native? I was born there- at Good Sam, that was bought by Ron Hubbard and turned into the Scientology temple... We are getting way off topic for the ebay board!
It will be interesting to see how the poster does. I sure does bring back memories!

Not a native - I started on the east coast, moved west, got to LA and have been moving south for the past few years. I'm now looking at a move across the border later this year. Maybe I'll start a site suppling ebayers with goods from down south. I know where I can get a great deal on ceramic surfing monkey statues : )

I did spend about 8 years in the valley so I'm pretty good with the geography.

For some reason the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Queen is sitting in a science class with a sub and everyone breaking into a rousing chorus of "Another One Rides the Bus". Poor thing had no idea what to do next.
