I am in the process of purchasing some items from an AW store..seller says this about shipping:
"Winning bidder agrees to pay $2 fo s/h and can be combined with other auctions in a 10 day span.
So I buy three items and go check out..$6.00 charged for shipping....so I email the seller and say there must be a mistake..he answers that is the old shipping rate....(those TOS were on all 3 separate listings)..I email back that surely he will honor the listings..i am still waiting to hear back from him. Do I have any recourse in AW stores?
I should add that I went ahead last night and paid for all three items through paypal (not through the checkout link) and just paid the $2.00, certain that this was an error in the checkout system. Seller has not acknowledged receipt yet.

The seller should abide by what it says in TOS, but you may have misunderstood what he meant by "combine". Combine usually means you don't pay the full 3 x $2.00, but it doesn't mean either that you only pay for shipping one at $2.00. The seller quotes the total for shipping multiple items, depending on the weight of the items and so on. The quote should be gotten by the buyer before agreeing to buy.
Six dollars may be cheap for shipping the 3 items. Depends on what they are.
In the future, settle by email in advance what the "combined" rate is before actually buying whether through online stores or auctions.
But it is HIS choice as to how much of a discount he gives when combining shipping. You agreed to the terms when you consummated the sale.
Sorry, but the fact that you did not settle it before buying really means you should bite the bullet and accept the amount he gave you. In additon, Paypal charges the seller a separate fee for each separate payment received. Tack on another 50 cents as well for his fees that will be deducted on the second payment.
If you want to negotiate, do it before the sale. Don't try to negotiate after you have already agreed to the terms by finalizing the sale.
If you were my customer, yes, I would have given you some discount. But I would not have mailed it to you for $2.00. More like $5.00 if it was under a pound. If over a pound, $6.00 may not fully cover the postage.
Competition is fierce and times are tough. Your seller cannot afford to send it for the $2.00. I suggest paying him another $4.50.

In my auctions I say. If you bid and win more than 1 tie auction postage will be combined. Then I list how many I can ship for that price 1-2 ties $2.25. 3 ties $2.50 and 4 ties $2.75. that is how I combine shipping. I will not ship two auctions for the price of one but I will add on a few cents to cover that next auction.

the three items together weigh less than an ounce and can be packaged in a small padded envelope..postage of similar items I have received runs less than $1.00....I know how much PP costs (believe me!)here's verbage from one of the listings: "Flat shipping at 2.00 regardless of the quantity of your order. Free Jewelry box included with every order!" and here is from another of his listings ( i just went randomnly into his store listings: "PLEASE PAY 2.00 FOR SHIPPING AT ANY QUANTITY!" I honestly did not think there was anything to negociate but just figured that the check out was erroneous and not able to handle multiple puchases! Wherever i look at items in his store I find the wording about the $2.00 combined shipping..I did not feel it was an issue until he told me that that was the "old" rate!
(*items are jewelry and this person has over 30,000 AW store items and over 1,000 eBay auctions running - I would expect professionalism in listings and if it were a small seller with just a few items for sale i would give them the benefit of the doubt and not make a big deal out of it)
I am not a newbie (2200+ positive feedback in one year)- In my auctions i combine s/h too even though postage is twice as much for the second item - i combine up to 3 items - I figure that I receive the benefit of people searching my auctions for items to combine.
I guess my question is: WHO IS WATCHING THE STORE??

The additional data you post changes now my perception of the situation. Email him politely until he responds. Or he may not respond and just mail your items. Dontcha just hate that?

Yeah..and hopefully he will email back that he will honor the TOS in the listings or even just send the item..but if he doesn't..how do I register a grievance? I don't see a spot on AW to do that...makes one think more than twice about shopping the AW stores!!!! I wouldn't want to be the one assigned to update the s/h on 30,000 + auctions thats for sure!

Could this be Fluffy???? My items also weigh about an ounce a piece. I ship up to 5 for $2.50. Sounds like you are getting gouged.

I sell combined items through AW checkout I have to adjust the shipping cost and recontact the buyer with the new shipping or give a refund on shipping if they have already paid. Is there any other way of doing it?
