How do you protect against some "criminal" stealing your ebay sellers ID and using your positive feedback? I saw a mention of that happening on one of the threads - I never had heard of it before. Is there something I should be doing to reduce the chances of it happening to me?

Don't give your password to anyone, ever! Make certain your password isnt easy to guess - change password frequently - they can't steal your id without your password!

Uae a different password for your financial accounts than your Ebay acocunts, and adiiferent from your AW accounts, and so on.

Never log into any critcal accounts (Ebay, Paypal, bank) from an email one of them supposedly sent you. Even though the email LOOKS genuine, It probably isn't and logging in from it's link sends your user name and password to a thief.

Don't answer detailed surveys that come in emails about your accounts.

Don't even hint at your password to friends and coworkers.

Make your password a combination of letters and symbols that would be hard to guess. Don't just use words that can be found in a dictionary. Don't use your pet's name or numbers standing for family birthday dates.

Don't use the same password for important accounts at some low security site.

I think the best security (besides making sure you never share password info with anyone, and keep different passwords at different sites) is to make it as long as possible, and never something like a common name. Use numbers as well in there. There are programs that can go through to break passwords, the more complicated your password is, the safer you are.
