Whoa, I'm almost glad. I have 819 transactions, 661 Positives, no neutrals, no negatives. I knew this moment would come, I think I'll rest easier after I get this and life goes on...It does, doesn't it?
I get this email from this lady who received a "widget" from me and insists that it is not new as advertised. This widget comes straight from the manufacturer is Brand New. Anyhow, I email her my guarantee from my auction page which states
"SATISFACTION GUARANTEE - All items are believed to be as described, but your 100% satisfaction is guaranteed. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, e-mail me within 3 days and return the merchandise in original condition within 14 days for a complete refund of your winning bid amount. Postage & Handling, having been expended in good faith, will not be refunded, nor is return shipping refundable"
Ok, then I go and give her other options that I would be willing to do to keep her happy because she WANTS refund plus shipping both ways....(Auction cost $41 plus 8.55 shipping.)
I decided to check her out, because she said she was also a seller and it probably was an oversight on my part, yada, yada...HERE'S the kicker...in her auctions she mentions how disappointed she is in her own winnings and how she would never do that to anyone. Her auctions all started before she even bid on my "widget". Do I smell I trend? or something else? Any suggestions? She probably just wants it cheaper.

Stick to your tos! If she wants it cheaper then let her check out a dollar store. I think you made a good offer and if thats not good enough for her then just write her off!

Where this crap came from where bidders think that they have some god given right to expect shipping both ways is beyond me.

What I find that the worst part is that these people are also sellers who should know better.

I have 3 negs out of 413, the first one killed me, it was from non-paying bidder in retaliation for me giving her a neg. I was mad but handled it in the respone to feedback, professional like, life does go on. You can't please all the people all the time......You can almost feel the negatives before they happen...lol

She sounds like the auction interferer that I ran in to a few weeks ago. She sent me an email stating she was very disappointed in everything she's bought (she is also a seller) and what I am bidding on is damaged (even though she was NOT the seller on this one and could not possibly know the true condition, which turned out to be perfect). Wonder if they are one in the same?

Stick to your TOS! Like I always say, part of knowing how to read is knowing how to comprehend what you read. Apparently this person thinks rules should be different for him/her. I haven't had a neg yet, but it will happen one day. I barely pay attention to my feedback anymore.

Cheryl hit it on da nose! After I got that RED STAR, feedback became a trivial matter!

I still reciprocate daily for feedback left for me, but I no longer even check my score -- tis literating!

Go out, buy an expensive bottle of wine and celebrate when the neg comes! Wear it like a medal you got for bravery on the Ebay battlefield!

Don't buy an expensive bottle of wine, just a bottle that you & your loved one like. Then give the SOB a neg & suffer., After the first one, it doesn't hurt at all.

Cramer, your guarantee is very professional, BUT so nicely worded that together with your spotless feedback record (knock on wood) may have added up to "Sap" in this buyer's mind. How wrong she was to equate professionalism and good manners with weakness. I'm proud to "know" you and honored to plagarize some of the wording in your guarantee! LOL.

myposting...I have only had to do two refunds since I started selling on eBay four years ago. I think my guarantee just makes people feel better about bidding.
Also, I have seen this or parts of this guarantee all over eBay. I guess you are not the only one who likes it.....I just laugh when I see it.
I once had a powerseller copy my auction word for word. The funny thing is that they stole my picture also, it was taken with one of those horrible web cameras. (The only thing I had when I first started.) I thought it was so tacky, but then I realized how bad the ad looked compared to the rest of his and it made me laugh.
