I guarantee everything I sell, but I got a negative feedback this morning from a bidder who said the playstation game that he bought from me didn't work. He left the negative feedback before emailing me to let me know he had a problem. This is how the neg reads:

"The game didn't work! What the hell"

I know that ebay does not allow profanity in feedbacks and I'm wondering if the word "hell" can be considered profanity. Would ebay remove this negative feedback because of profanity?

I would doubt it, "Hell" really isn't considard to be one of the 7 forbidden words. You could try though. It sounds like you got an under age bidder on your hands.

I think eBay should remove of the because the nature of the word.. Maybe it would tell that buyer that the language he used isn't acceptable and not to be used in feedbacks. I would certainly email eBay and tell them what he did. A little warning doesn't hurt anyone.

Hi everyone. Ebayauctionguy, definitely turn it in to ebay. You nor I could get away with saying that in someone's feedback, so why should anyone else. Last year, I had a deadbeat put some BIG time filth in a negative feedback he left me in retaliation.

I notified ebay, and a few days later, wouldn't you know an ebay staffer said that the sexually explicit filth did not violate ebay's rules? I determined right then and there that this particular ebay staffer was just lazy and didn't want to put down his donuts and tv remote to do the right thing. So I went right ahead and KEPT emailing ebay staff with the same exact request, word for word. The only thing is.... I didn't tell ebay that I already complained to one of their staffers and he chose to do nothing.

But persistence and repeat complaints paid off. As a result of my 2nd complaint (which apparently reached a different ebay staffer),
the smut-mouth deadbeat was suspended permanently, AND his negative smut that he put on my feedback record was removed. Now recall, that the first ebay rep said it was impossible.

So keep trying. You have nothing to lose, and don't take no for an answer. Good luck.

Jack

Thanks for the comments. Does anyone have a link or email address where I can contact ebay's feedback department? They are almost impossible to find on ebay.

Hi again. I don't think ebay has a department devoted to negative feedback removal per se, but you can just use the safe harbor subject that makes the most sense. Hey, you can always cut & paste your complaint and send it again to ebay safe harbor, under two violation subjects that come the closest.

Here's a link for you:
