Well this is the first time I had to deal with this.

So I got a package today.. but I didn't remember ordering anything. turns out, its a returned Fedex ground package for: incorrect address!

Argh. So I checked the address and it was almost the same one that was posted on Paypal confirm address.

## Mill Lane Box ###
Blah Blah, NY #####

instead of:

## Mill Lane (Box ###)
Blah Blah, NY #####

what happened was the buyer put in his address even though paypal had it, and he forgot to put in the parenthesis in. I guess I must have copy and paste that one instead of the PayPal one.

So my bad. I goofed.

The thing is, I would think Fedex would be able to correct a mistake like that... you know? Especially when on the actual delivery label that they print out and put on the box, they pretty much put the Box ### on another line, omitting the Box, like so:

## Mill Lane
###
Blah Blah, NY #####

anyway its been couple days over a month now. I'm really confused on why the buyer didn't contact me at all. Or at least file like a complaint with PayPal. *shrug* I told him it would only take a week max for the package to be delivered. I apologized for my mistake and told him that I will fully refund it if he wish, or resend the package again at my expense.

The thing is, I dont really feel like I goofed too, I figured something like that would be obvious, but guess not.

anyway this is long, I'm just ranting I guess. Kinda already stopped selling about a month ago, so I'm not really in the mood to visit Fedex.

I was thinking, what happens if er.. he doesn't contact me? He's around my age, and I duno.. if I recall, he's serving in the military, so he could be away.

i would wait to hear from the buyer. if he has gone overseas, someone else may be living at that address, or there is no one there, hence : incorrect address

I think that its not so much of a mistake on your part, more like no common sense on the part of fedex.

The thing is, I would think Fedex would be able to correct a mistake like that.

You would think so... however fedex would need to use more than five brain cells. I would call them on this as there is no reason in the world that they could not deliver this parcel.

I don't think the ( )s should make any difference. I have mailed items both ways and if the person is at that address, they should have received it. As long as the name is correct.

I am a little confused. Did you send an email telling the bidder of the returned package ? Did he respond to your email?

Don't ever expect FedEx, UPS or USPS to ever go the extra mile to deliver something. I have had mail returnred to the sender because they didn't put my space number in the address. I live in a mobil home park & have for 6 yrs. My regular postman will deliver, but the subs won't even try.

"So my bad. I goofed. "

I don't think so.
I would send the buyer an email: "WTF is your proper address?"
And make him pay for any re-delivery.

well the buyer emailed me back.

and appearantly he's been trying to work it out with fedex to get the package to him. cuz i did gave him a tracking #, so he was looking at this all along.

hence no email.

he told me just send it to him via USPS...

turns out its a PO BOX?

I'm not realy sure whats up, I put the address he gave me....

he send me another address:

PO BOX ###
Blah blah, NY #####

I kinda feel like this isn't my fault, and I shouldn't eat the now more expensive USPS shipping cost (item is around 10 lbs)

so I was thinking I got some options:

1. Be a nice guy, Go to USPS, pay for their overprice priority mail, or parcel mail, and get that package to the guy.

2. Be an angry guy, go to Fedex, complain about how they can't figure out something simple like this.

The FedEx folks I deal with tell me FedEx does not accept ground shipment packages with a PO Box number...they require a street name/number. I had a similiar problem...the package was somewhere in "FedEx Never Never Land" for about a month...re-delivered to me...I re-sent and it arrived broken in a zillion pieces. I'm STILL trying to get a claim payment...and it's been almost 5 months now! Generally, however, I'm pleased with FedEx Ground (especially for large heavy items) BUT their claims processing/service needs improvement!
