I was wondering if one of the experts would share with those of us that don't know. How do I know if I have a First Edition Book. Please excuse some of us that don't have a clue.

Also, go to the Books message board on Ebay and ask your question. You'll also see, I believe, some links to information like what you need. Very helpful.

Thanks, You guys have made my day. Today is my birthday and I have had a day from hell,my car broke down on the way from the flea market. Customers are e-mailing where their stuff is. And some ladys wants all her money back on some books because I didn't tell her the lady that had owned them wrote her name in them. My weekend at the flea market was worse.Don't ya just love days like these. This is just the beginning I have to move next week. That ain't going to good either.

If you are going to sell books, you are going to have to learn what's important and how to write a proper description.

Capotasto, Thanks for the info.I did that on most of those auctions, however this was a few I did the first day and for what ever reason didn't think to. I know it is a unforgivable sin to make a mistake on E-bay and you must pay the price for it. The only other thing that would be worst, is to think you are so good it couldn't happen to you. But on the other hand if your that perfect hats off to you.

MAH645 - don't take capotasto's response personally. The previous owner's name in a book can make a *huge* difference in it's value. Book collectors tend to be rather passionate about these things.
Don't worry - everyone makes mistakes and I'm sure you didn't do it on purpose. Just refund the buyer's money and let it go.

Passionate and perfectionist -- more so than collectors of other items. MAH645, that was my point. Don't take things so personally. There are plenty of book collector sites that can help you in writing book descriptions. I 've been selling books for over a decade and still learn from those sites.
