I won and paid for an auction on April 12. On the first day of the auction I offered him a considerable amount to do a BIN since I wanted this as a gift. Someone bid before we could complete the BIN. I requested that the map be sent rolled not flat, not an unreasonable request for the $10.00 shipping. After 10 days I e-mailed the seller to ask if the items had shipped. I got a reply of "will be posted tomorrow. I've been ill with the flu. Thanks, XXX" In the meantime he bid on and won seven auctions. Please keep in mind the seller is 50 miles from me and media mail from his city to mine takes 2 days. Today is 16 days since payment. I emailed him again today saying I hadn't gotten it and I want it. I also filed a complaint with eBay and Pay Pal to cover myself. Tonight I got the following, "would you rather have your money back too? I never specified when I would send the items and your attitude has been EXTREMELY COCKY since you won the sale. My wife was bidding on items while I was laid up and your business morals have not impressed me. I suggest you exercise a bit of patience. I have people that I am waiting on and I get much further by working with them instead of THREATENING THEM. What kind of example are you setting for your children? Regards, would you rather have your money back too? I never specified when I would send the items and your attitude has been EXTREMELY COCKY since you won the sale. My wife was bidding on items while I was laid up and your business morals have not impressed me. I suggest you exercise a bit of patience. I never threatened, I was firm but polite and I certainly never impugned his morals or questioned his childrearing practices.

I have invited him here. Am I being unreasonable?

Sounds guilty to me. It's been two weeks since you won the auction you would think that if his wife can bid then she can mail his packages also. My husband does that for me when I am busy. How does his feedback read? Has he been selling long? Maybe he does this with everyone who knows but what I know about him is that he shouldn't be a seller.

Not unreasonable. Should have been shipped promptly after payment was made. I think the example you are setting for your children is, "You should take care of yoour business properly and have the right to expect others to do the same." The question he should ask is, "if I am not conducting his business in a forthright manner, what kind of example is he setting for my children?"

Did you pay with PayPal? If so, alert him to the fact that her's REQUIRED to ship within 7 days!

Tomwiii,
Actually, I had forgotten that point. It didn't occur to me since I ship within 24 hours of a PayPal payment except for Sunday. I did file a complaint with them so I'm pretty sure that they'll remind him. I really just want my stuff, not a refund.
Thanks.
