What is Tweedy?
Any photos?
I am a huge spay/neuter proponent, but babies are so cute, hope they don't chew on leather....

Congrats to you and Tweedy!

Japerton makes a good point. There is nothing wrong with your pet having babies as long as they don't end up outside as strays. Remember that although babies are cute and cuddly, they do grown up. My neighborhood is loaded with stray cats. They are everywhere and make a mess everywhere. They are tearing up gardens and ruining outdoor furniture with spray. I suspect these are from people who didn't spay or neuter their animal only to find them pregnant with an unwanted litter.

Please folks, if you want the babies - hip, hip, hooray! If not, get your animal fixed. If you find your animal pregnant and you don't want the litter, take them to your animal protective league or find them happy and loving homes. Don't throw them out of the house where they will die from cold and starvation or will ravage the neighborhood.

Just what has this got to do with eBay?? I had a thread blocked last month because it wasn't related to eBay. This belongs in the Vendio chat room.

Once in a while it's nice to hear about happy things happening to Ebay sellers. A lot of the people that post here will not go near the RoundTable and I can hardly blame them.

To make this about Ebay, any ideas of what could happen should live animals be allowed to be sold on Ebay? Can you imagine what a seller's nightmare that would become? Just how would you ship? I know a couple of snakes I'd like to ship to some problematic bidders out there. Hee, hee.

Sorry, I was so busy being a birthmaid that I forgot to ask how do most ship pets? Any ideas? I am new to shipping live animals. Thanks.

I bought a 5' kitty condo/scratching post with some of my ebay profits. I got it so my little cat wouldn't tear up the furniture and rugs but she almost ignores it and my other cat surprised me by choosing the very top level as her favorite sleeping spot.

My cats always keep me company when I'm at home and doing ebay sales. Most ebayers I know have pets and they take good care of them and the money they make on ebay helps to pay for food and vet bills, etc. After working all day my cats always greet me when I get back home and no matter how rough the day was they always make me smile.

I see pets in many of the ebay ads. I used my lynxpoint in one ad after she knocked a piece of china on the floor and put a small chip on the edge. I was surprised how many e-mails I got about the cat. People loved her and asked me about her breed or told me about their similar cat and it was a fun auction.

Lets hope they will grow up and help you pack your ebay stuff or take those great pictures on AW......

Wait till she is done with the kittens and have her fixed or you will watch this merry go round 4 or 5 times a year.

To ship, make sure the box has air holes...LOL

Congrats on your new additions! All of our 3 were strays that were dumped when the owners moved. Our most recent one just got fixed last week.

By the way (to make this eBay related) I get my cat and dog food coupons off eBay since it's usually a good deal. I use only Nutro so it can get pricy since we've got one cat that needs extra nutrition (the newest), one that's picky, and one super fatty (17 pounds) that needs diet food.

Post pics when you get a chance

This is what my cat tells bidders in an animated video in my auctions:

Oh, and the email address shown on that page is no longer active.

Toasted,

No, I wish I was that talented!
The animation is free from A,T&T Labs on an unadvertised site. "Playmail" is their way of introducing their technology for virtual customer service representatives that will attend customers on their client's websites in the future. So, they are letting us play with the technology and they let us get really silly.

I put a link to the main playmail site below. You can upload any picture of a person, animal, etc. and click on and pick all the points on the head, neck, lips and eyes thay ask for (over a dozen), then put in your text, add the emoticons they allow, and you send it to yourself in an email. Voila, a talking head on Mount Rushmore, your cat, dog, or anything really, even a rock or a toilet I suppose!

I tweaked that one you saw about 20 times until I had it just like I liked it, then saved the link AT&T sends to the recipient. Then I added the link to my auctions.
I've had bidders go make their own with their pet and email me back with it!

There are some hilarious ones on the Playmail site, as I remember. It can be a real time waster, but a very fun toy!

Here's some more:

A talking capybara (South American rodent) I sent my sister:
http://www.videotalks.com/d/real/r7842712.1192_54514649.html

A Mr. Spock playmail containing a number of phrases spoken by Spock in the original series (not as funny):
http://www.videotalks.com/d/real/r1826171.1828_54514649.html

The biggest challenge is the tweaking needed to misspell certain words so the voice will say them correctly. It mispronounces a few.

Here's the website where you can sign up for free and play with the playmail:

Have fun!
Patty
