My best pickup of the day was a Nintendo 64 system complete with 9 decent games for $35. I also picked up a more obscure game system for $5 that I should be able to sell for $50, not a bad find...

I got a really nice metal mitre box with attached saw for $5.00.

My wife wanted a key organizer to hang on the kitchen wall. Found one for 50 cents. She's already painted it, stenciled to match the stenciling on the wall and put the hooks back in. Looks nice. I gotta hang it when it dries.

I found a neat Christmas theme letter opener. Could be a refridgerator magnet. 50 cents.

Now I gotta finish those mitre cuts on the new chair rail in the kitchen. Lost my excuse. No saw. Hee Hee.

I hardly ever buy anything for resale.

Not much around the north side of Chicago today. Went to one but everything was WAAAAAYYYYY overpriced. Only thing I was able to find was a deck of Tropicana Hotel playing cards for $.10

Ooh! Ooh! (Hand waving in air)

Yesterday I picked up six books about cats and got around to listing them on Half.com today. One of them, More Adventures of Samurai Cat, made me jump out of my chair when it came on the screen. Selling from $90 all the way "down" to $25, not many at all available. This is a real sleeper, to me. It's a paperback and I nearly didn't pick it up at the thrift store because it just looked like a child's junk book. Good condition, too, like new, so I'm listing it for $69.95.

By the way, who the heck is Samurai Cat? Famous Japanese cartoon monster???

I find many books that are listed on Half at $40-$50 and they go for about $15 on ebay if you're lucky. Not very many things are getting sold on Half these days but it is a good option if you can wait for many months.

clivebarkerfan you should have made the trip to Lake Forest. It's a once a year rummage sale. I got a noritake relish dish unusual as it also has another stamp with a name written over it. When I get a picture I will post it. 4 piece snack set by stafordshire, unusual necklace and earrings signed Laurel Burch plus two other really neat pieces of jewelry. Scarfs, purses it was just a great sale. Started at 7 ofcourse I didn't go that early got there at 10 everything went half price at 1. Had lunch also spent $30.00. There was some more clothes and such. Now my feet ar tired.

Sanmar: We're down south here in the mountains that tower above Palm Springs, and it rained like the devil all day, windy too. Unusual for this time of year here. But don't we all need this rain!!!

Mort Sahl used to talk about the sun going down at noon in Palm Springs. That's our mountains.

Not a garage sale find, but a flea market one. I love going to the flea market on the last day. Things are REALLY cheap. I got a cool oriental grouping for $10. It's signed and dated. You can't tell from the picture but the pagoda lights up and it works. From 1959.

I also got a Sketchers sneakers box full of jewelry for $3.00. A lot was junk for my granddaughter, but mixed in were: a rhinestone crown pin by Kenneth Jay Lane, a Coro necklace, a Trifari necklace, a Monet necklace, old Pearls, a Giovanni pin and more. Great bargain for $3. I'm happy and my granddaughter is tickeled to have a box full of jewelry.

I got a lamp and a very large basket - both nice but the guy gave me 3 Tom Clarks and a retro clock radio. He said of the Tom Clarks "you can have those ugly little things" Found one of the Clarks' listed for $50 on ebay and the radio sold for $45.00 last month. Not bad for free??

Heres a great sweet story lol...I walked up t a yard sale once and there was a 14k gold men's wedding band..I asked the lady how much...she said you can have the S.O.B. lmao ! Ummm guess that marriage ended bad.
My husband had a lady give him about 50 mint comic books for almost the same reason. Her husband had hid them in a very large ammo can to keep her from knowing he still had them...she was selling the ammo can for 2.00 when he picked it up it was super heavy...my husband being the super honest guy said I think there is something in here...they opened it and she said that &^%(*& I can't believe he didn't get rid of them like i told him to...you can have them ...my husband said are you sure?? she said YES !! gotta love a freebie !
