Would I like to find one of these. I have sold Artvogue Vintage Ties but this would be a dream find....along with the fishing lure and beer can..

Am I missing something? I have a vintage (1950s) Hawaiian shirt with a matching woman's mumu in my closet. They belonged to my grandparent's so I would never part with them. But, I also wouldn't pay $1,000 for them. What am I missing about this shirt?

Hey look - a topic that's right up my ally!
I don't collect vintage Hawaiian shirts, but most other Hawaiiana, and there are some vintage shirts (depending on the manufacturer) that are rare and valuable. I haven't heard of this label, but I have a Hawaiiana collectables book that lists many shirts and dresses that are worth thousands. My mother has a basement full of old Hawaiian clothes - I haven't found a treasure down there yet

I'm just on my way out the door to work, but I'll see if it's mentioned in my book when I get home this afternoon

Hi Cheryl,
Well, I looked through the chapter on Aloha wear, and surprisingly many of the dresses and shirts that they valued at about $500-$1000.00 had no manufacturer's label - they base it all on design and fabric content. There was one yellow dress with flowered leis on the print going vertically down the dress and native girls on the fabric. It was by Diane Honolulu and they valued it at $900.00. Could your label maybe say Diane? I can try to post a picture if you want. It's a very pretty dress
