I finally broke down and ordered a books of pottery marks last week, but of course it's not here yet. So, can I trouble someone to look this mark up and let me know any info about it? Thanks!

What is the wording on the mark??? Can you make it a little bigger. Either it's the screen or my eyes but I can't make it out

I just increased the size of the image. See if that helps.

hope i spell this right...this is the mark of the Muramurai brothers exporting firm that was based in New York City. it usually is a wreath with the M in the center.. if i remember correctly, the color of the mark denotes something about the date range when it was made.

That's the Morimuras (Noritake) and it is not a Noritake mark.

Ok, so am I correct that Morimura Brothers imported a line of china from a company called Nippon Toki Kabushiki Kaisha, Ltd which would later (in the '80's) become Noritake. BUT the company was started by the Morimura Brothers after they began the export company?

Did that make sense?

All the marks I have been seeing are the large M surrounded by the laurel leaves. The one site that did have this mark said it was yet to be established who's mark it ws, but they thought it was a Morimura or Noritake

This is an old Morimura mark, about 1922 as it is "Made in Japan", rather than Nippon, Morimura & Noritake are synominous. The Name "Noritake" was used as far back as 1908. The words Nippon Toki Kaisha is the name of the city where the factory was founded. Translated it means Toki Kaisha, Japan. The "M" was used until 1952 when the "N" first used. At this time there were no more Morimuras in the company. The Morimura Company was founded in 1876 in Tokyo by Ichizaemon Morimura. His brother Toyo established the "Hinode Co". in NYC. This later became "Morimura Brothers, USA". This taken from booklet produced by Noritake Co. Limited, 1997. It has every mark used by the companies. & the date it was first used.
