Received this in the mail this am:
Subj: Question from eBay Member
Date: 5/16/2003 8:48:57 AM Eastern Standard Time
To member: xxx
From member: xxx
--------------------
good morning ,
i think there has been a mistake left on my feed back -would you please check on this and let me know?
item #706775891
i tried to search the data base and could not find any history on me bidding on this item - nor could i find out what it was ?
thanks for checking -
donna

Curiousity got me, I looked it up on her FB.
me(2217)Apr-24-02 09:28:09PST 706775891 B
Complaint:Non-responsive,non-paying High Bidder (5 wks)

So this was my response:
Good Morning Donna!
Thank you for your amusing e-mail.
According to your bid history, after you flaked on me in March 2002, you took an eBay vacation for about 11 months.
Your high feedback (4) tells me you are quite an active eBaYer thus it is understandable how difficult it must be for you to track your bids.
To aid active bidders such as yourself, several correspondence is sent regarding each eBay transaction.
But, I am sure you may have missed a few of those little details, probably about seven of them.
When you placed a bid, you were sent a bid confirmation from eBay.
Then, you were sent a note from eBay informing when you won.
An End Of Auction notice was then sent by the seller(me).
On/about the 7th day after non-payment, you were sent a payment reminder.
Again, 10-12 days when an non-paying bidder alert was sent, courtesy of eBay.
A few days later, I would again attempt to wake you from the dead, contacting you requesting the status of your (now overdue) payment.
After yet another week passed, a final notification would be sent to you when I, the Seller, filed for refund of my Final value fees.
To recap:
In about four weeks time, you received approx seven communications regarding your bid, all PRIOR to when the NEG was placed on your profile.
and you still can't remember it?
How curious your recent interest in a NEG left over a year ago.
It brought me to notice that you have begun to sell on eBay.
*shock*
I would guess having that NEG hurts.
20% neg posted on each and every item you list, too.
bummer.
Let's take a little peek at the transaction from a Seller's standpoint, shall we??
That ID lists about 40 items a week.
That puts YOUR auction (60 wks ago) about 2400 item listings ago.
Do I remember it?
You're kidding, right?
Would I check on it and let you know?
Sure, doll, I'd be thrilled to check my files from FOURTEEN months ago in my spare &*^%$#@! time.
Haven't you already wasted enough of my time?
I listed the item, writing the description & taking pics, paying both a listing & final value fee on the item, only to have you bid & walk away.
I then spent MORE time attemting to claim payment from you.
Coming to the realization that you were either blind, dumb, broke, dead, or a complete moron, I relisted the item, placed you on my blocked bidder list for ALL of my ID's and moved the F*** on.
It was YOUR choice to bid, YOUR choice to ignore communication, YOUR choice to flake. You deserved the NEG you now claim is a 'mistake'.
The only mistake made here was when you had any inkling that I would give a ratsazz about your Feedback profile after you wasted my time & money and came back a year later to do it again.
It didn't feel good the first time you screwed me and unless your performance hjas significantly improved, I choose not to bend over for you at this time. That would be MY choice.
If your well deserved NEG keeps you from Selling on eBay, I have done my service to the eBay community and will happily accept a key to the City for my efforts.
Have a Peach of a day, Loser.

Actually, before you get too riled up, I should tell you that I chose to ignore the e-mail.

That's how I would have *liked* to respond to the ballzy little weenie, though.

*sigh*

Carp! I was just getting comfy for the response. You should have titled it the NON PAYING BIDDER Dance.

Send it! Send it! It's too good not to!

sweet, sweet, Fetish.
You have no idea how tempted I am to send that note.
I just might.
The FB on that selling ID is getting too high ~
I'd like to retire it soon, but it has a lot of repeat customers.
I am also 7 months pregnant with twins ~
I should be slowing down and consolidating to one ID until I see how busy the doodlebugs keep me.
hmmmmm.....
I just might send it, and quite a few similar to it before I retire this ID.

I'm beginning to think a sizeable portion of ebay buyers have some form of dementia brought on by old age and other factors. Some people send double or triple payments and some truly seem to forget buying the ebay item.

I have known several people with Alzheimer's Disease and it is sad to see what they go through. In the beginning stages of the disease you simple think they are forgetful or a tad dingy.

There are still those that try to weasle out of the ebay purchases but there are also people out there with genuine mental problems.

AuctionAce:
I tends to doubt that the flake factor has any correlation to Alzheimer's.
The age range for my bidders on that ID would be from about 16 to 60, MAX.
Few people over about 45 would be buying my items for themselves, most anyone over about 35 is buying my items for their son or daughter ~
That ID sells mostly high end trendy jeans & clothing. Back then lotsa Doc Martens, Lucky Brand, Seven Jeans, etc.
Granny's usually don't wear 18i doc's!
(well, okay, mebbe a few of the grannies that Fetish knows )

LOL, you make me proud. Not sure if I would not sent the email. Ahh, the urge would make me do it.

there are also people out there with genuine mental problems.

True, but then I do not care! If they bid and then stiff me and waste my time I will treat them like any other deadbeat. I treat all deadbeats the same way.

Zoomin, if you don't have a copyright on that letter, would you mind if I copied it and saved it to my operations manual? It would come in handy several times a year.

You wrote "I am also 7 months pregnant with twins...," which explains the clarity of your thinking. Month 7 was always my best month. (five kids, so all I can say is better you than me!) I'll be on vacation this summer when your sweetie-pies make their appearance, so let me wish you all the best now so I don't forget. Take care of yourself, and enjoy them while they are still too young to drive.

OMG, mypostingid, several times a year this would come in handy for you?
eeeeeeeeeeeekkk!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Twin girls ~ ETA ~ after July 10 (due 8-8).
Girls.
Two of them.
Twice the hormones, double PMS.
This is a frightening thought for me.
My boys are 9 & 11, they will be out of the house when HE77 takes over.
and Mark & I will be jealous.
Thanks for your well wishes!!

Trai:
Not sending it is truly a test for us both.
I've always admired your restraint

Twins, Wow, that is so great. Do you know if they are identical & have you picked out names for the girls?

I was a twin. My brother and I shared a special bond that only twins understand. Its like having a best friend for life (although they might not realize it until they are grown). You are truly blessed. Good luck and God Bless!

Thanks for the good luck ~ we just might need it!
The girls will NOT be identical, according to the amnio.

Baylor ~ it is amazing how many adults I have known and just recently found out were twins.
Each and every one of them has a special 'glow' about them when they hear I'm carrying twins!
I can only imagine the special bond that you and your brother share ~ it seems extraordinarily powerful!
Do you have any incredibly wise, insightful advice for us?
(tips on how to not royally screw up are also appreciated!)
We'd like the girls to be as individual as possible.
So far the name choices are Megan and Cassie.
or Mandee. or Carlee. Middle names probably Rose & Paige. or Robyn.
We're still working on it.
We need to use an C,R, M, and P.
(notice that it comes close to spelling CRaMP).

zoomin, allow me to add my congratulations! You picked out pretty names. If it helps, we have a test for names in our family called the "Supreme Court" .... the test is this: How does it sound with "Madame Chief Justice" in front of it?

Good Luck!
