European Ebay winner asked if he could send me a travelers express moneygram. (I don't use paypal internationally since there is no seller protection, so I ask for money order or cash or WU transfer...)
I check the moneygram site for a local agent where I could pick up the $$, find one in either town adjacent to me. So I tell the winner okay, send me the pickup number.
Get number, go to one town... oops, they have stopped being an agent.
Go to other town, they say they did apply some time ago but were never approved as an agent...
After all that running around, I tell winning bidder to use one of my preferred methods or we can just cancel the whole damn sale.
Moral: Don't trust the moneygram web site to give you the location of an agent.

You are right, bear. My point, though, is that I should not have to call, the moneygram web site should be accurate.
Especially as to "agents" that have never been approved.
Stop, you too are correct, and I will propose that to any foreign winner who suggests moneygram.
edited to add:
moneygram is travelers express answer to Western Union transfers ... except that travelers express doesn't have all its sh__ in one pile.
