Okay, I know it's really not eBay related, but the Yahoo forum is dead.

I'm thinking of expanding to include a Yahoo Store. I have a website now, a Vendio store, and eBay. Found eBay stores to be worthless, and I'm not very happy with the limited customization of the Vendio store, but will keep it for the direct links from my auctions and the Froogle link. I have my own merchant account.

Does anyone have a Yahoo store now and is it worth the increased cost? Any links to Yahoo stores forums that are as helpful as this one is?

here is the link
http://www.ystoretools.com/forums/
some sections are for shopowners only.
it is getting harder to sell on yahoo shopping now,the featured shops are featured on home page of yahoo shopping, overture listing could be included soon.
non featured shops are ranked by rating, new shops with low or no rating are low men on totem pole.
depends on what you sell, most shoppers are looking for new items-camera,wallpapers,baby clothes, furniture.clothes, etc

Wow, Yahoo sure has upped the fee's.

The 49.95/month in addition to the % and other fee's makes it look less than interesting.

It would be cheaper to find a hosting provider and submit your sites to various search engines. It might be more work at first but you would keep more $$$$.

submitting to various search engines is not so effective anymore, you have to pay google and /or overture on certain keywords to place you high up on the search results.

Thanks for the link to the Yahoo Stores forum--I spent the last day reading through it. Think I'll hold off on making a decision until fall. You're right about search engine rankings--it's a fine art and still hard to figure out exactly how to place high. Content and links in seem to be king, and I don't have much of either. And everyone wants you to pay them if they link to you.
