Hi, all: I have a better photo to add to an existing auction with bids, closes in 4 days.

The advice I was given on the Ebay message board is to do this:

<img src=http://url of image host/picture name.jpg>

I've tried this using, for "image host" Vendio.com, then used www.vendio.com. Neither worked.

Is there something obvious that I'm missing??

Roadsmith,

Images are hosted at Vendio under the following convention:

http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/viewimage.x/00000000/YOUR_VENDIO_USER_NAME/YOUR_FILE_NAME.jpg

(the .jpg would be .gif if you used a GIF instead of a JPEG)

You might want to check your image hosting plan though... I think Vendio does charge $0.10 an image if pictures are added to auctions in this manner. (not totally sure how they do it though.) Hope that helps!

You can also add a picture to an existing auction by using the Legacy Image Hosting System which can be found on the manage images page on the left side of the page (a link is supplied) Just upload your image and you can add it. It is pretty easy. The page will ask you for the Auction#.

Do you want to ADD a better photo, or CHANGE to a better photo.
If you what to ADD use HTML to add into the description.
If you want to CHANGE just upload, then change the name to the same name as the old one!

WOW. VOILA! While waiting for your messages of help, I stumbled on the SIMPLE way to do this. Never knew it before.

1. Go to "Image Hosting" (NOT "manage images!" At bottom of page are your directions.

2. Check box of image you want to attach to auction. Click on "attach" at bottom.

3. Follow easy little steps further--you'll need to write in the item # and indicate if it's a new auction or existing auction.

4. DONE. I doublechecked my auction to be sure, and there it was. I can't believe it was that simple!
