I sold a widget on the 21st. On the 22, I emailed the buyer with total for shipping and my address. Several days later, buyer emailed me asking for total owed. I again emailed info. Last nite buyer again emailed for info. I again sent info to her. Only difference is, last nites email was returned to me by the postmaster. Stated reason was three attempts to deliver failed. It has now been 8 days since auction closed. Checked buyers feed back, and it is 100% positive. I don't want to make waves for her, but don't know what approach to take.

What kind of e-mail account are you using to send the e-mails? Many of the web-based e-mail accounts are now automatically bounced/filtered by other ISPs due to high potential of spam. This may be what is happening in this case. I would try to send the information again from an alternate e-mail account (preferably a non-webbased one).

My email account is with my isp. Don't think the problem is on my end. I guess I'll have to phone her. I hate to waste money on a long distance call for a peanuts sale. Oh well, customer sevice comes first.

You may want to try to contact them
through the "Mail This Auction To A Friend" link from the actual eBay auction page.

That might work. Good luck.

Hello,
I have had a few of these email problems. I usually try using Ebay checkout as an alternative.

Hello
Good ideas here all. The problem is usually a Spam guard either by the customer or his ISP (AOL is notorious for bouncing e-mails) this has got worse as Spam has become an epidemic.

If you e-mail again make sure nothing is canned even a lot number (No cut and paste). Ebay checkouts will bounce like everything else.

I have a second email address, mine is in yahoo. I use it and it near always gets through fine. Hopefully the customer will email wanting to know what is going on, If not the Ebay funds request form will cause them to reply. Then you can get through by "replying" This problem, though not epidemic yet, is getting worse.
Good luck.
David

Once again - I keep reading all of these "AOL is notorious" posts and I am baffled. I must have a very special AOL account, and ebay accounts for that matter. I have three ebay accounts and corresponding AOL accounts. I've never had a problem with people unable to contact me.

Oh yeah.... none of those three accounts get spam.

From my experience, some people have limits set on the size of an individual e-mail so that overly long e-mails are not always
received intact, if at all. I've sent digital files via e-mail that are very large and they'll be "bounced back" if they exceed the limits of the incoming server.

Tried it--eBay's mail got bounced too. I'll have to phone her this evening.
Thanks for trying.

Once again - I keep reading all of these "AOL is notorious" posts and I am baffled.

Nothing baffling to me. I send out 10-40 ebay winner emails a week, about 1-3 a Month bounce though some months all is fine. Of that group about 75% are AOL addresses. I have not been able to determine who is bouncing it but suspect it is the customers Spam guards. If you don't have that problem I am glad for you however I have found that many sellers do.
Kind regards,
