All the professional sellers are in force now. But the best deals will be when the small time people start listing on free listing day, if it comes. We are all awaiting. Don"t buy now wait till then.

I am sure a free listing day is way in the future. That day is a disaster for all. Sellers list blank auctions then try and fill them in before the 7 days is done. Buyers have to wade through those auctions and ebay uses up all their space and get nothing for it. I never list on free listing day because of all the auctions. I am afraid mine would get lost.

I love free listing days. It is a great way to get my slow moving items listed risk free. Even with the high number of listings, sales do tend to jump during that time. And the best thing is they don't do it too often so the crappy recipe and sports cards auctions don't get a chance to contaminate ebay like has happened at bidville.

My guess is that if there is another free listing day, it will be around Christmas as it normally is to compensate for the traditional drop and bring the listing numbers up for the end of year report. It looks like they are trying to get away from fld for traditional auctions and use it as a promotion for their new schemes such as BIN and storefronts. Look for more promotions such as penny gallery days and bold for a buck days for regular auctions. With that said, watch Ebay throw a FLD this week and me coming back here with egg on my face (after I get a hundred or so auctions listed)
The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

We'll lucky to even see a penny gallery day. Ebay just had a 2 day Half-Off Gallery, Featured and Highlights Sale on May 28 & 29.

December 26th is the traditional free listing day. There used to be one in June but who knows if they'll do it this year. Would be nice - the "should I sell it or just toss it" corner is demanding some relief right now.

Many people like myself would not sell on ebay because of the high fees. They are not reasonable when sell through rates for collectables are extremely low. But free listing day gives us a few times to sell.
