Does anyone have any experience with U-Pic Insurance. WWW.U-Pic.Com. Just Wondering if it is a good thing? Thanks.

Pretty Wonderful.
Something like 60 cents per $100, but the $100 is cummulative.
This can insure 20 $5.00 items for 60 Cents.
Other insurances charge by the package instead of by the total, so if it was $1.20 for the first $50 and you had 20 packages for $5.00 your insuarance costs would be around $24.00 instead of 60 Cents.
This is good for those people who send the extra money for insurance on a cheap item, which is just about useless, but if you do not go to the Post Office and stand in line and do the paperwork they are mad and want their money back, even if you personally insured the safe delivery and would have refunded had they said anything was a-miss.

Are you sure about that gousainc? I just started using it a few months ago, and everything that I've read about it certainly suggests that their rates are per package and not cummulative.

I also use Endicia and buy my insurance offline. I fill out the U-Pic Excel template with an auction or invoice number for each package that I insure, as well as the date shipped, the declared value (sale price of item plus shipping cost), whether or not I use delivery confirmation, and the overall cost.
I would guess that your packages are not insured in the manner that you think they are based on how you must be sending in your paperwork and payments.
Back to the original poster of this thread - I think U-Pic is wonderful. Of course I haven't had a claim with them yet but I don't see where that would change my mind. The combination of lower cost and not having to go to the post office for the few packages I have to insure has been absolutely worth it to me.

I fill out the excel spread sheet also. I send the spread sheet as an attachment once a week and when the month ends.
I'd rate U-PIC a whole lot higher than the insurance the USPS offers.

I am sure fxgal now understands all the outs and ins of upic ... those who "answered" the question certainly don't seem to.
