I am trying to find a bidding assistant and occasional Trading assistant in Japan. I know exactl what the items I want are and what my max bid will be but mot of the sellers do not ship internationally and I don't know Japanese. If anyone knows of someone in Japan interested in this or where (other than ebay TA's -- none of them answer email) I might be able to find someone, a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

I thought ebay closed its site in Japan. I know Yahoo is big over there, though.

He wants a trading assistant for Yahoo Auctions Japan. Yahoo Auctions is really a bunch of robots. Just like the movie West World starring Yul Bryner.

Hula - ebay Japan is dead but there are still some Japanese based trading assistants listed on ebays site - I fear they may also be dead since they do not appear to respond to inquiries.

I am indeed looking for someone for the Yahoo Japan site. I want to scream cry and stomp my feet whenever I go there because of the price on some of the items. The only person I have been able to get a response from was reccomended by a friend... turns out this person charges $10 per item bid and then doubles the shipping costs when sending to you. Since a number of the items close below $10, it's no longer a bargain... oh and they won't place your bid if they decide they want what you have asked them to bid on. Needless to say.... unacceptable.

I'd check with the student employment office of one of the universities in Japan. They may be able to suggest an honest student who needs the extra money.

When in a new place, not knowing where to find someone I need (like babysitter, lawn care person, odd jobs), I call a local church and/or a college. I've had very good luck.

Road - I wouldn't know where to begin doing that one - remember - I am not in Japan, I'm in San Diego but you did just spark a thougt..... - there is a language school that teaches english to Japanese students (interesting concept - parents send their kids for 3 months to the US where they soak up the sun and fun and go to conversational english classes). I know they also have one in Mexico CIty, maybe I'll run over and see if they have one in Japan and can recommend someone to me.......
