I placed my auctions online this week W Ebay & Yahoo and since I'm a newbie, need to get answers to some things:

1) Cancelled one item and relisted it; is there always a relisting fee? If yes, that's a downer.

2) So far there's a 50cent more bid price. When the auction closes and the highest bid is (example) $1.00 more than I asked, do I have the option to refuse the bid?

3) I listed two disks separately and then realized it's better to list two disks and ask for one price; correct? For example, 2 Twilight zone disks. First, I listed them separately, then cancelled and relisted them as a 2 for 1. Is that a smart move?

BTW, CAN SOMEONE LOOK AT MY POSTING AND TELL ME IF IT LOOKS ALRIGHT. THIS IS MY FIRST TIME, SO WANT TO BE SURE I DID EVERYTHING OKAY.

The items are
on Yahoo: Marilyn Chambers, On Laserdisc
my handle is [email protected]
On Ebay: Marilyn Chambers, Up and Coming on Laserdisc
handle: LiW48
ditto: Twilight Zone

on Yahoo: Twilight Zone, the Creative Vision Vol 1 & 2
Ditto: Marilyn Chambers

Did you do any research whatsoever before you launched these auctions? Did you read what you agreed to when you signed up?

Did you do any research to see what the trends were in terms of closing prices?

1) Always a relisting fee but it is refunded if you sell on the relist.

2) Yes- you listed it - you are required to abid by the final bid - that is why you should do reasearch.

3) No blanket rule there - depends entirely on the title - another reason to do research.

So what you are saying is that if the high bid is $10.50 I HAVE TO TAKE IT?

Should I take it down and re-list?

yes - you have to take it. If you care what you get for it than yes, you should probably consider canceling the auction and relisting with a higher opening bid or a reserve. First though you should check and see what they have sold for in the past to see if it is in line with what you are expecting to be able to get for it.

I have a reserve price of 35.
Just talked to cust serv rep and she said a reserve price guarantees that it won't sell for less. Great! I'll leave it alone.

You have been a member here over a year and have 77 posts. I think this is B.S. you are trying to get us to look at your auctions.

You don't understand closing rules but you figured out reserves and how to get an ebay employee on the phone at 3am?

From your feedback on eBay, you've already got a feedback of 10, 8 of which were as a seller. So your next post that says these were your first auctions is bull.

Let's all get fake names on ebay and yahoo and bid his auctions up to $1,000

And not pay.

It will serve him right.

In LiW48's defense, I checked and there are about 50 items for sale on Half under that I.D.
