have some early 40's books i listed just now, but the ONLY category i can find in all of vendio's lists AND ebay's "browse" lists in under antiques! ... that's just not quite accurate ......... i'm not a bookseller for the norm, so i just could not find any other place to put them ... and even then, i HOPE they're American, because that was the subcategory i picked.... sheesh.

Could it be that everything's FUBAR due to ending of the half-assed listing day??

There is a books category -- main category...

However today when I went to list a BOOK the category didn't appear... I refreshed the page and there it was...

Just another ebay screw-up.

I was trying to find the books main category the other day and it was INSIDE another category (not Antiques, though). I was just stunned.

Usually, there's a books subcategory under Antiques, and an antiquities subcategory under books! Always fun to try to decide where your older collectible book should go.

Ebay now considers books to be entertainment and thus most of the book categories can be found under the entertainment tab with sub-categories for book themes. Hope this helps.

Ebay changed the books category but after a huge uproar ebay is changing it back. It should be back to where it was soon.

I'm glad you posted this question. I thought it was just me. I had to look forever to find the book category.

Might want to check the Announcements Board at Ebay.

In their infinite wisdom, they decided Books should no longer be a top level category and rolled it into Entertainment.

There was a major uproar amongst the bookies and Ebay is now in the process of undoing the damage and returning books to their rightful position as a main level category.

In the mean time, no one can find books.

I use the 'sell similar' function on 'My ebay' and the books categories are there if the listed item was a book.

That was an incredible mistake to try to take away the Books section on the main tree without any warning.
