Well... I was a little surprised to get the following notice in my e-mail this morning!
Dear eBay Community Member,
Between 18:40 PDT on 6/24 and 22:00 PDT on 7/1, eBay's Store Search was not indexing properly in certain categories. As a result, some of your new listings created during this period were not appearing in your Store or in Store Search. This was due to a technical error on our part, which has been resolved.
We will be refunding the Store Inventory insertion fee and feature fees for all of your affected Store Inventory listings automatically. We will also be refunding 25% of your Store Subscription fee for this month. You will be receiving this credit within 5-10 business days and no further action is required on your part.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and wish to extend our appreciation for your valued patronage.
Regards,
eBay
I didn't even realize there was a problem (my store items have been selling like normal). Doesn't mean that I won't still appreciate the refund, though! I'm just actually impressed at how eBay handled this situation. I've dealt with ISP's, Cable companies, phone companies and tons of other service providers that have had countless of "down-time" problems. Never have I had any of them automatically issue a credit... I've always had to fight and argue for one. Anyhow... just thought some of you might like to see that eBay is not a completely evil corporate entity!
