I use AOL on my laptop.

When I tested an upload to Vendio and post to Ebay my image looked awful. I was all set to revise it but decided to do the revision on my desktop since I am still trying to get familiar with navigating around on the laptop.

Well, to make a long story short, the image looks fine on the desktop but terrible when viewed on AOL and even on the laptop preview page of Vendio.

I remember reading something posted here about changing some setting on AOL that will clear up my photo view. I think it had something to do with AOL condensing them for quicker loading? Can anyone point me to that thread or tell me what I should do?

I would dump them if anyone else offered multi-user access.

I don't use that connection unless we are away from the house (rarely) or the cable is out.

I keep AOL over the competitors because my daughter in Reno can use it as well and she also rarely uses it so it keeps her from having to buy her own account. Combined we don't use it over 10 hours a month. If that stopped I would drop them in a minute! I hate the service.

Lindajean...It's a quick fix. Thanks to dadofstickboy's link for searching past threads, I found it!

I had the same problem a year ago with two photos (dessert plates) that had been stored in "my images" for over a year. Finally decided to list them and found they were blurred. All other images were fine and I knew the plates photos were perfect earlier. A mystery to me why just two were distorted. Anyway to make a "short story long," I posted my dilemma and got the answer right away. AOL here...never a problem before or since.

Note: I disregarded the cache and went straight to AOL preferences. A few clicks and my photos were clear. Hope it's cricket to quote Sonya.

Good Luck!

"Hi,

If your images look fine on your computer, but when you upload them, they appear distorted, try clearing the cache and history in your browser. Then, under MY AOL, open preferences, and click the WWW button. Under advanced should be an option to view compressed graphics. UNCHECK the box next to this option, then close out of preferences. Refresh your page, and your images should clear up.

-Sonya"

Sign-up with a real ISP!

Don't most ISPs offer multi user accounts. I think EarthLink offers 6 or 8 users per account for instance.

The bad thing about AOL is sellers using the free webspace there. Those images seem to take forever to download in an auction. Many times I give up waiting for the images and move on to the next seller.

beachbound: Thank you!

Everyone else: I use AOL because I have had the account for 6 years. I don't want to change because I rarely use it and have it only for convenience when absolutely necessary.

But, I will be uploading listings while I am on vacation and wanted to see the pics clearly.

I'm not changing servers and I don't use AOL space. I use Vendio!

Thanks again beachbound and Sonya for the original post.
