Ok, so I looked on EBAY but I don't see anybody selling bulk quanities of these and I am just STUCK for ideas.

I'm in charge of getting things to put in Goody Bags for the http://www.yorkierescue.com/Ball being held on November 1st in Nashville TN.

All the big companies that actually make this stuff say that they are overrun with requests so "don't ask, period".

Anybody know anybody that would donate 100 of each or 100 of ANYTHING for a tax deductible 501 (C)(3)charity organization?

Thank you in advance for taking the time to look at this.

Try smaller businesses. They sometimes have small advertising premiums - combs, calenders, etc. with the company name on them. You get something for your bag and they get advertising. It's how a women's group I used to belong to did it when they had conventions.

The toothpaste makers are always having special offers that have a tube of toothpaste and a new toothbrush both connected into a single joined box. The stores remove the items after a certain time and they land up at the flea markets in the form of tables full of them going at a super low price. Sometimes there are several vendors selling them. I bet you could get 100 sets for $75 as they rarely sell for more than a buck each.

Maybe ask a dentist? If he doesn't want to donate, maybe he can tell you where he gets his premiums? I know they are generally flooded with them.

deana beat me to it, but that's what I would suggest. My mom volunteers in a program for mentally handicapped adults, and her dentist gives her toothbrushes and toothpaste samples by the case.

Maybe there's a dental association in your area? If so, the association staff might be willing to broadcast your requests to all the dentists in a particular area. (Or check to see if there are any dentists that belong to the local Humane Society - they might be more willing to donate for an animal-related function.)

Have you tried Den-Mat? It is a small company located here in Santa Maria, CA. They make Rembrandt tooth paste. Idon't know if they have a website, but I'll bet they do. The phone # is 805-922-8491.

am I wrong in assuming these items would be for the dogs and not the owners? have you tried dog food companies or pet hospitals for sponsorship?

All the big companies that actually make this stuff say that they are overrun with requests so "don't ask, period".

Even a small concern such as ours is hit up about once a month to donate product to charity. I guess these people don't stop to think that if we honored all their requests before long there would be nothing left to donate.

Recently I did put together a rather large donation for my best friend's daughter's school charity auction...but she indicated most anything was acceptable as long as it was new. It gave me a chance to get rid of many slow movers.

Last year I donated 200 pieces of otherwise-unsaleable jewelry to the Dr. Laura Schlessinger Foundation as they indicated a special need for it. Personally I cannot stand the woman but I hold out hope that the stuff went to a good cause.

However, those eBay bidders who write to me on behalf of their favorite (no one has ever heard of) cause are told "no thanks".

You might try the liquidation B2B auction sites; they often have large toiletries lots. Or stores like MacFrugals/Big Lots.
I am not a bathtub full of brightly-colored machine tools on Vendio.

Hi glasslrl...why don't you look for smaller quantities of similar items and mix them up a little? I'm sure many business would consider donating 20- 25 things as opposed to 100? ***BTW, where would someone send the donated items to? Good luck with your Ball! I just checked your site...check out my favorite when you have a chance! http://www.cairnrescue.com/adoption/available.htm#available
