Hi everyone. I have this "thing" have no idea what it is. Made of wood with a metal bar across a hole with 6 pins sticking out of the wood. I will post a foto later. Right now I am just trying to date the patent number on the bottom. D 236,313. Am I right? IS this from around 1881-2?

The D probably stands for design which changes the whole thing to design patent number and would make it much later.
My chart ends at 1945 and design patents had not gotten that high yet.
Does anyone have a website for patent numbers?
Thanks

I found it! It is a corn grater. Filed in 1974 by a company in california! I even printed out a copy of the patent including the drawing, the dimensions etc! How KEWL is this!
I went to:
http://www.mwtca.org/sites.htm
and then clicked on patent office. Added the patent number and there it was. I was even able to print out the patent!
Thanks everyone! This is today's first triumph!
