Hi, all. Here's a message from a buyer today:
"I am sorry for being PayPal illiterate as of yet. Do I pay for both plates individually or is there a way I can
pay for them together."
I know this has been discussed here in the past but don't recall the answer! (This hasn't come up for me since I began accepting PayPal.) Thanks. ~Adele

Just send her a Paypal invoice for both items. That's the easiest way to do it.

or she can change the shipping amount to the cost of the second plate plus shipping

It is better to send one payment for both items. I sell $5.00 items and when a buyer wins 10 items and sends 10 dif paypal payments I get charged the 30 cents on every payment. It adds up quickly!

Thanks to both of you, I'm smarter now than I was when I got up this morning!
Rather than confuse my buyer, I sent her an invoice. Had never done that before but certainly will in the future. (Thanks, Cheryl)
(Toasted: I thought I remembered seeing a way to do what you suggest but wasn't sure. Thanks!)

I usually send them the total with one shipping amount and haven't had too many problems.
This is from PayPal:
Q. I won several items from the same seller. Can I send a single payment for all of the items?
A. Yes, Pay For eBay Items shows all of the items you've won on eBay that require payment. Click the Pay button in the Action column for an item, and all of your other items won from that same seller will appear. You can then make a single consolidated payment for the items of your choice.
Note: Consolidated payments can only be made for items listed in the same currency.

As Kiara said, the buyers can make consolidated payment when they click on the "auction I have won" link in their PayPal account - they will not get that option when they try to pay another way (through end of auction link or link in the listing itself)

Any number of auctions in any catorgies of any type can be combined for a single consolidated payment by simply listing all appropriate items numbers seperated by a comma in the Item number box.

the one problem i see -if the buyer is not happy with one plate and cannot get it resolved with seller,he will file chargeback on the total amount he paid you.

Stop - he cannot do a PayPal chargeback on a single item and for a CC chargeback their is an itemized invoice showing each individual item.

I just went through a paypal chargeback.
They bought 3 items.
Tried to get the total back.
Were awarded money for 1 item only.

Stop - if shipping is done correctly thru PayPal with DC then displeasure with any item is irrelevent since the only thing that they deal with is delivery.
The only way a buyer can get a "refund" on an item they are displeased with from PayPal is via the insurance program and in that case it is a matter of PayPal "buying" the item from them as covered by the insurance now offered on specified sellers transactions. The seller is uneffected.
If the buyer decides to bypass PayPal and dispute the transaction via their credit card company then a consolodated payment via PayPal shows every item - so the only thing refunded would be the purchase price of the item in question.
