Since things are pretty slow right now, I thought it would be a good time for it- I want to change my ID to my domain name. It's pretty nearly the same, but I know I have a few people that watch my auctions. If they search for me by my old name- will they find me?
(Notice I came here and asked BEFORE I went and did it! )

They will find you under your OLD & NEW name for 30 days!
Then just your new name.

If you change your ID, the old one still works for 30 Days.

However, you should probably check the current rules on names. I'm pretty sure you cannot change your ID to a Dot-Com address.

You cannot change your User ID to a dot.com on eBay anymore. They stopped doing that awhile ago.

You can do:

www-yournamehere-com

You cannot do:

www.yournamehere.com

Here's what you can do:

Change your ID

on the 30th day, your old ID is up for grabs

Re-register your old ID as a second account

List blank auctions with a title like: "My new ID is xxxxxxx"

In your description, put in a link to your new ID auctions

During the 30 days, make a new "About ME" page with a link to your new ID.

Rob, that is such a great idea!
And here I was afraid to look at the answers- it looked like such a dumb question when I re-read it.
beatnikera, I remember the Holy Modal Rounders. Is it possible that I actually saw them play back in the day? Maybe at a los-angeles area love-in or the Calveras Pumpkin festival?

Hi Dragonmom:

To answer your question, you probably
did see The Holy Modal Rounders back in the day - they were (actually, still are) a cult band made up folkies Peter Stampfel, Steve Weber, my friend Michael Hurley and a bunch of others. The band was formed in the early sixties and broke up
in the late seventies. These guys still perform to this day in some permutation.

"At a Los-Angeles area love-in?"

Absolutely.

"Calveras Pumpkin festival?"

That sounds like a gig taylor-made
for them as well.

Definitely pick up the CD entitled "Have
Moicy!" and re-live those memories!

I will! My sister loves that kind of music too- she just played me a cd that had a song on it entitled "Three-Speed, Twelve-Inch Oscillating Fan" but I can't find it on amazon, and I can't remember the artists...

Is this the song?

There’s a twelve-inch, three speed, oscillating fan
Sittin’ on the floor in front of the divan
The air conditioner’s broke, but we’re doin’ the best we can
With my twelve-inch, three speed, oscillating fan.

According to this site I found on Google it is performed by BIG SMITH.

ha ha ha! That's the one!
It's wonderful what great musicians can do with goofy lyrics like that. And the title of the album.. "Leftover Salmon"
How could I have forgotten?
Okay, Rob, check out BIG SMITH- if you can stand it.
