Is there a website for organization initials? I run into this problem frequently, where I will get jewelry or a dish and cannot come up with what the business name is. This particular one is PLA. Is there such a site? Thank you.

I tried Google search. It gave some possibilities, but nothing seems to fit.

This is the best jewelry index.

I believe I had one for pottery and porcelain marks but I'm on my work computer now and don't see it bookmarked on this one.

kiara, that is a GREAT site! I bookmarked it for future reference. I would really like to have the other site you have for porcelain and pottery some time. I phrased my question wrong though. The organization initials are on the top of the pin I have. I can't find out the name of the organization the pin was created for. Thank you for the website you provided though. It is a goodie! Okay, now I understand what you meant when I read it again. So far I don't know one with the organization names. Usually someone just asks here and someone else knows. I think I had one bookmarked for pins so I'll see if I can still find it.

Otherwise, here is one for the pottery and ceramics.

sparkz had a great idea recently when they said that Vendio should have a directory where we can keep all these sites for future reference.

Another name for initals is acronyms.
Here's a site that list fraternal organizations for instance ...

If the jewelry is obviously feminine, odds are the "LA" in PLA stands for Ladies' Auxiliary.

I have always had lousy luck trying to get a picture posted here, but thought I would try again.

It took forever for me to figure it out too!
The friendly folks here on the board helped me out.

Looks like a P I A not P L A. But then what do I know.

Thank you so much! That was the best part of this day, getting that picture in here! The worst part was pulling an entire cap and filling off a molar with a tootsie roll. I'm 49. I oughta know better!

The middle initial is an "I", not an "L".
