Perhaps one of your deadbeats is attempting to have his black-mark removed by convincing eBay that he really did pay you. I think you need to contact eBay and work it out.

It seems like it would be a he said/she said situation. Maybe it takes more than one complaint to ebay from NPBers against a single seller or maybe if the NPBer had a Paypal transaction number or similar evidence then ebay would issue that letter. I've never heard of anyone getting that letter from ebay but a few must go out.

When a buyer receives a Non-Paying Bidder Warning (you know, the thingie where you get three in an 18 month period and you get NARU'd), you can appeal the warning by submitting proof of payment.

I would bet that's what has happened in this case.

Now, proof of payment doesn't always mean proof of receipt. Could be the buyer sent a money order and you never got it.

You should try to identify the buyer and work with him so he can get a refund on his lost money order, if in fact that's what happened.

Are you sure this is from Ebay?
May be something you would want to forward to [email protected]

Check the headers to see where it came from.
May be your deadbeat customer!

Hi,

nope, I only file the last step, the FVF, when the guy doesnt send payment. and I do give them a ample time (usually 40 days). I emailed ebays asking just whom made the claim I filed a false FVF, and get this, this is the email I got..

Due to privacy issues, we are not permitted to discuss the item
number[s] involved.

The notice you received about Fee Avoidance was not sent as a warning,
but as an educational tool. When eBay receives news of auction
completion for an item of which no sale credit was accessed, we
investigate, and send an informational notice if appropriate. Since
there was proof provided that a buyer had paid for and received their
item of which you received a credit noting trade mutual backout, a
notice was sent to you to let you know about our Fee Avoidance policy.
It was not intended to cause you any inconvenience. It was intended
only to educate you on our rules. I have detailed below what we
consider
-------

Uh, OK. Lets see, I filed 5 FVF, one guy didnt pay for a DVD, and when I filed, he got NARU'ed, and still is, another guy was a kid, kept emailing me every other day, claiming payment on the way, never got it, another one the usual "I looked at your auction, my computer accidently did a buy it now, oh well", and 2 of them didnt even respond to my EOA email! So HOW CAN EBAY SAY I CASHED THEIR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!

This sounds like somewhere along the you filed for an FVF under the explaination:
Both parties mutually agreed to end transaction..

Then the other party told Ebay: they paid & received item.

Have you ever filed FVF under those conditions?

Doesn't need to be recently!

Hi,

there was 2 in the last 3 month, both items where lost in mail, they both bought insurance, and where happy to fill the insurance claim form, I refunded them, and one of them I filed "seller send refund for you returned the item" which the bidder though ebay was stupid for not having "seller refunded for item lost in mail", while the other one I filed "both parties" but both where corporative.

However, there was one "kid" who send me a check for the cost of shipping ONLY (5.00) and not cost for the item (15.00). I emailed him constantly asking him if he was planning on sending me the remainder of the money owed, he didnt reply, so instead of wasting my time harrassing him, I filed "both parties" but I never ever cashed his check.

Hmm, think one of the guys I refunded got me confused with another seller?

( The Kid )

Did you send him his money back?

When you file both parties, Ebay sends the other party an Email saying:

If this is true do nothing, if this is not true please respond.

If Ebay sent this letter to the KID and he replied that he sent payment, then you look like you took payment, and told Ebay you didn't get paid.

Hi,

I did sent his check back. Unless he got sneaky and forged a signature behind that check? Of course when you file both parties no strike will be on his record, so if he did this, not sure what he is gaining.

not sure what he is gaining.

This could be used against you, just as a deadbeat giving you undeserved NEG feedback.

And there is nothing you can do about it except: look bad!

Uh, have you read the thread? I never filed a FALSE FVF? So why do I have to be aware of a policy I already know, but did not commit, which they are accusing me of??!!

you need to take a deep breath and calm down. IMHO you are wasting way too much energy worrying about the small stuff. they even said it wasn't a warning.

lighten up and look for a REAL BATTLE TO FIGHT.
