When e bay finally wakes up and blocks NPB's from posting feed back, their feed back system may hold some credibility,,,,,in the meantime when a NPB can retaliate with lies, feed back has NO,,,,,, credibility.....once ALL the hoops have been jumped through for the seller, 20 days of crap,,,,the NPB simply posts lies that they paid and negs the SELLER!!!!!! .....once that Final value fee button is clicked,,,,,,poof,,,the NPB has NO say in the public forum.

Right on! There will also be a whole lot more bidders with negs. Some sellers are afraid to neg NPBs for fear of retaliatory negs. I cannot understand why Ebay allows them to leave feedback. You'd think just the fact that these bidders have also lost money for Ebay, they'd fix this problem.

Come on, Ebay. FIX IT!

Oh Cheryl! E bay is FIXING the part about THEM losing money with the newly instated POP UP to the NPB. Don't cry for e bay. Poor e bay, losing all that NPB money? And having the negged sellers, collect the MONEY for them to boot! AND Then getting them, the NPB back in the action of destroying MORE sellers reputations with unjust feed back! What a joke this is. AND guess who the joke is ON?

But what's to keep a dishonest seller from filing a NPB and FVF for a refund *AFTER* the honest customer has paid for his item?

You've all seen enough fee-avoidance schemes to know this would be widespread. I'm an honest seller, and I susupect most of the rest of us here are too, but we all know that there are more crooks on eBay than eBay will ever admit.

Bad feedback is there for the HONEST buyer, not the NPBs. But how can eBay really know the difference? You can't trust the seller in many circumstances either.

The customer can file a complaint with ebay and show proof of payment and get the NPB removed I think.

As we ALL know doing a nPB is not one click and it done, drags out for 20 grueling and frustrating days.....

Hey e bay! I paid this seller and now I am getting the series of NPB e mails! and that is why e bay will eventually mandate pay pal payments only! for thier auctions. proof positive! AND it's their Company! Easy enough to VERIFY!

Exactly right. I did it once.

I went on a 12 day cruise a couple of years ago but made sure all my payments had been mailed out first. One guy didn't get the money order. Despite my mid-cruise assurance to him that it was on the way (the cruiseline has onboard email), he filed NPB right away and then FVF. He may have been confused by the fact that the email came from [email protected] my usual address.

I sent eBay a copy of the money order and they removed the NPB warning.

He returned my money order with a nasty note. What a sweetie.

I highly recommend Crystal, BTW...we're going on an Alaskan cruise in September. They're the best cruiseline on the planet.

Fluffy....Alaska cruise in September? Yuk. Dress warm. The rain starts pretty heavily here in August and come September the tempurature drops in the evening.

My favorite months are May and June. July been killer this year though. We've even had some 80 degree weather.

eBay could care less about us disgruntled sellers. The fees they lose from NPB's are probably far outweighed by the fees they gain from the transactions the non-payers do complete. It is in eBay's best interest for fewer negs to be left by buyers & sellers. Too many negs -- both buyers & sellers will get scared off & eBay will lose out.

Perfect! I'm a cold-weather fiend. Love cloudy skies and rain.

My idea of the perfect vacation is a winter in England.

Jack, chill. (So to speak.) This topic has been done to death. We *know* feedback is broken. Not much we can do about it.

This is one thing I can get behind... once NPB is filed that person no longer has a right to leave feedback... of course it might be easier to get eBay to go along if once an NPB is filed no feedback can be left by either party.

I love it when Jack gets mad. Jack versus Fluffly, appearing in a thread near you.

Now back to the new topic, those September cruises must be cheaper than the good month cruises. I once worked with a maintenace guy that was so frugal that he got a deal on an Alaskan cruise where he did so some maintenace work during the cruise for a reduced fare. Instead of asking how was the cruise we asked him how was the engine room.

From a seller's perspective, I think this is true (?): after filing the NPB alert and waiting the ten day "workout period". 1) File your neg FB and 2) immediately thereafter file for rebate of final value fees. Once the FV is filed the transax is, in effect, non-existent and the counterparty cannot file any feedback. Can anyone confirm that this is how it works?

I found out the hard way when I tried to do leave neg feedback after filing for the FV.

This does not relieve the problem of neg fb during the "workout period".

SARGENT AT ARMS! SARGENT AT ARMS! Fluffy is being disruptive this is NOT fair!

E bay has my blessings to block me from any feed back to a NPB. I care less, All I want is my partial fees back and for the NPB to drop dead. Hopefully I am the 3rd one they got and poof good ridance. Please e bay, block me from giving a NPB feed back. Now, maybe the program will be ready in the morning.

Now that the thread has been diverted, can I bring up that the NEW Google toolbar blocks POPUPS and it works perfectly! Love it!
