I will be shipping my first time with UPS tomorrow. How do they want address labels done? Do I just wait until I get there and they print one?

I am guess you are taking to an actual UPS HUB CUSTOMER COUNTER and not just a shipping location.
When I used to use UPS, I signed up for an account online at WWW.UPS.COM .
I think you may get a little better rate by doing it this way, rather than taking it to the UPS customer counter and paying there.
By printing my label in advance, I never had to stand in line. I just walked up and placed it on the receiving belt.
By having the account online, I could print the label on plain paper, know the tracking number up front, and tape it to the box. Or, for free, UPS will provide labels, that are two labels per 8.5" x 11" page. They run through your printer and then apply directly to the package. You can also tape them down if you think there is a chance they will not stay on your box.
Around 7 months ago, UPS tacked on an additional $2.00 per package if you did not have a daily pickup.
I switched to FED-EX Ground at that point and get the same rate I used to get at UPS. Around $2.00 less per package than UPS.
I would have answered your question more directly by saying "Put the to and from address on the box". Then they have forms to fill out, which act as a shipping record, but things may have changed since I was there last, and I think they were moving toward typing your information on a computer and printing a label there, but am not sure so will let someone else answer that.

Good question. Last time I used UPS (last month) I went into the customer counter and had to enter all of the shipping info into one of their terminals. THat generated a little barcoded sticky label that goes on the package. Then you go up to the desk and they weigh it and generate a mailing label. You pay and off the package goes.

I am planning on going to a pack and mail which accepts packages for UPS. The UPS is too far from me to go there. It is at the airport and about 8 miles. I may try to do it online but didn't know how much trouble it was to sign up and all.
