I got sharpie all ove my favorite white top crawling under my desk to retrieve an earring. I used Spray and Wash. Came right out. I've also used hairspray very effectively when I travel. I think the alcohol in it works as a solvent.
If you are really lucky the name will be on there with a washable marker.
Good luck!

Thanks, Jens. I'll try that with the Spray and Wash.
Had an item at estate sale and they marked the price on the box with a big black marker. So I used nail polish to remove it. It came right off, but it left a blotch, so I dont want to do that again.

Greased Lightning works great too! On washables, I use hairspray; but if it is something I can't just toss in the washer, I used Greased Lightning

Sort of relevant to this topic.....I've been thinking about this the past couple of days...my favorite product.
Spot Shot for carpets (not the foaming kind) is my ALL TIME favorite product. Cleans my white carpet and doesn't leave a soapy residue which attracts more dirt. BUT it's just as great on clothes with no ring and no harm to it. I know I sound like an advertisement but this stuff has not let me down yet.
