Had a VHS listed that is OOP (out of print). Bids were up to 91.00 for this film when all of a sudden it was VERO'd. According to Time Warner they own the rights to this film and it can't be sold by anyone but them. When they choose to put it back into circulation they can sell it but I can't. This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. If you believe this crap then no one can sell a VHS or DVD on ebay anymore. I looked for competing sellers and there aren't any for this video. I'm stumped.

I run into that garbage all the time. I just relist it again. I have been accuse of bootlegging so many times I cannot count them all. The people who accuse you of this are ignorant about copyright law, or just plain ignorant.
There is such a thing as the First Buyer's Right. It simply says when you buy a video or DVD you may sell it when ever you'd like. It is most likely someone turned you in to Ebay. I don't think Time Warner had anything to do with it.

Why should you not be able to re-sell a video that you own?

They are full o crap and need to concentrate on their own first run market, if it is Time-Warner (but dont think it is either). I cant believe EBAY went along with it. As you said, then "NOBODY CAN RESELL VIDEOS, DVD's, or CD's! Ridiculous!

Capo - if you don't mind me asking...what was the video? When de4aling with videos you have to be careful to make sure that on titles are are often bootlegged you state that you are selling an original commercial copy. Be sure to include a pic of the cover and you might even want to go so far as to include a scan of the tape itself since to show the top label or printing.

If it's really Common Sense, why do so few people actually have it?

Neoro - when a video company shuts down an auction it ios because they believe that you are selling a bootleg. The are a lot of popular out of print videos that are routinly bootlegged on ebay
