Anyone have the link handy for this download? I know Fluffy posted it a while back and since then my computer nearly exploded and been replaced! UGH!

I scoured the old postings here and to no avail. The USPS.com site is even less help...

THANK YOU!

I had a tough time finding it! It looks like USPS have changed their website and it is nearly impossible to find what you want! You can bet I have it bookmarked! LOL

I had to get a new hard drive (Gateways seem to need at least two hard drives during their life times. Another story.) My Shipping Assistant V2.2 is gone. I found the link to download it again, but it says you need Adobe Acrobat 5. I have Adobe Reader 5. The only free software I find on their site is the Reader. I don't recall paying for the Acrobat download before. Any advice?

Here's a silly question, but what does Shipping Assistant do? The site didn't tell me much.

shipping assistant 2.2 is a great little program for shipping, and if you want to use electronic delivery confirmation. On the USPS website, it only works for priority or express mail, but you can use any class of mail with this program and get a label. You can also enter the email address of your buyer, and they get a nice email with the delivery confirmation number of the package. I have used this program for over a year now, and use eDC with every outgoing package. I've had a total of ONE undelivered package, and lately I am sending out between 200 and 300 packages a week. Before this, I am sure I was scammed by buyers, because I definitely got quite a few more package never arrived emails. That just doesn't happen anymore!

Don't get discouraged if you have a little trouble getting it installed. I had to reinstall it yesterday because I had my hard drive replaced. I got error messages and called the USPS 800 number for help. He gave me a link to Microsoft Help. THAT wasn't the answer for me as it didn't make sense to this computer illiterate. I gave up. Tonight I gave it another shot, and WAH LAH! everything went into place by itself.

I skimmed through the online documentation but I can't find anything about insurance. Can you purchase insurance via the shipping assistant or do you still have to stand in line at the post office?

Unless you ship without insurance or use third party shipping insurance, it kind of defeats the whole purpose. The thing I hate the most is having to stand in line at the PO.

It comes in great for me, because I use DC on every package I ship - and the savings is great...free for Priority and .13 on all other pieces...

DC on Priority is free if you use the shipping label from Shipping Asst

I used Endicia back when I was selling in a high volume. Now I just sell occasionally and I don't want to pay the monthly fee for something I'm not going to use that often. I will give my recommendation for Endicia however. It's the best out there.
