Not for me, I have a store

But seriously, if you are listing stuff that is going to cost you more than $20 in eBay fees, it's worthwhile to just open a store for a month. It's only $9.95 and you can always cancel it before getting charged next month.

Call it a half-price listing sale with a $10 cover charge

replay,

Actually.... there's no cover charge at all! For new eBay store owners... the first 30 days of the store is free! If people want to take advantage of the half-price listing day... they could open a store... keep it for 30 days or less.... then close the store. (of course...eBay knows this, but is betting that you will like the store and will keep paying them $9.95 a month for it!) However... anyone can take advantage of this promotion at no extra cost to them!

Hey replaymedia how does your ebay store compare to vendio store is it worth the extra fees.

In regards to the ebay store, Ebay did/does a similar freebie with the $4.95 per month seller's manager. The first month is/was free and then the ebayer had the option to renew or quit the program.

It will be interesting to see how many more listings will arrive at ebay as a result of this half-off promotion.

Native:

My eBay store sells four or five items a month. Not a big deal, but I make more than enough to pay the store fees. I like the ability to have my stuff broken down by store category. And it's just one more point of visibility for potential buyers.

I don't use Vendio Stores. I have my own website, which I have indexed on Froogle and other sites already, so there is no benefit to me to have a Vendio Store.

Has anyone ever tried featuring your storefront? You know the $49.95 a month option... Anyone try it? Worthwhile?

I HATE THESE LISTING DAYS!!!! I guess they are great for part time sellers, but for us full-timers it just means so much crap is listed that buyers can't even find our stuff! My sales % is always lower the weeks eBay has these promos....! I am just going to list my regular 50 items today and hope tht because it's limited to store owners (and i am one) I might acutally sell some of them!

Why can't buyers find your stuff? Did eBay turn off their search feature?

I've NEVER understood this complaint. I don't care if eBay has 5 BILLION "how to make money off eBay CDs" listed, if a user types in an item that I'm selling it will still come up every time.

I wasn't speaking LITERALLY as in they really can't find it, replay...I meant that perhaps they are too distracted by all the other things out there...who knows? I just mean that my sales aren't that great during the ebay freebies so that the few pennies I'd save in listing fees aren't worth the effort to break butt to crank out some more listings.

How can it be great for the part-time sellers if you have to have an ebay store to participate?

correct me if I am wrong, but the only way a buyer can find your stuff in your store is if they actually know who you are, and clickon your my store logo, or do a search in ebay store, as your item in ebay store will not show up in general ebay search, right?

That's the way I see it. This promotion allows store owners, both new and old, to list either store items or auction items at half the normal insertion fees so there should be an increase in the ebay listing numbers.

You're right about finding things in stores..I added a big link in the middle of my auction to hopefully steer lookers my way - I sell a few items/week from my store is all ..it's still a work in progress..

See! I'd rather waste time in here than list tonight!

After looking at the charts it looks like ebay added about 250,000 new listings
